Grats on tourney. How do you like the targ/Lanni without plaza? I’ve taken my list down to x1 of it and it’s been a card that I’ve been holding out from cutting but honestly think I could deal without it.

Also with x3 Jamie, Drogo, Dany and Tyrion I’ve used summons instead of Counting for that extra 2 gold. Did you ever find yourself running into problems with economy with coppers and winds?

I like the noplaza because this deck is weakest at power challenges. Other Targ decks that are good at power should play it, but not this one. Regarding Summons, the fact that you have 4 large characters and drawing any one of them is fine is exactly why summons is bad here and counting coppers is great. You dont have a need for any particular character, what you usually want to draw is more of your awesome events, and thats why you need to be playing counting coppers. Switching fro ma summons to a counting coppers in this deck was probably the best change I ever made to it. Summons is good for some decks but not this one.

Gratz, Alex. Three questions for you:

1. Did you miss the Wildfire?
2. Are you satisfied with your decision to trim F&B down to only one copy? I’ve found that event to be beyond awesome.
3. Your opinion of the Hound? Did he make any difference? Is a single copy enough, having such a steep ambush cost and in the face of opposition by your events and Illyrio in spending Tyrion’s resources?

I didnt miss the wildfire in any of my games. I cut it because I was finding that I rarely missed it. I decided I would rather play Calling the Banners if they have many guys and spam out big characters and just win by having a bigger board.

I would love another Fire and Blood but its hard to find space and I don’t want too many events. You could go down to 2 Hands Judgement, but I really like having them. If I added another event it would probably be a 2nd Put to the Sword.

The only time I drew the Hound during the tourney, I managed to ambush him out with 4 gold from Tyrion (both player’s Intrigue) and he was able to eat the Marched to the Wall the next turn that wouldve hit Tyrion instead. So he was useful but I didnt actually get to try him. I did see that he was great in Kyle James’ deck (he got 2nd), it was a Lannister/Stark deck. Tywin and the Hound are strong together. I am not sure how he is in this deck but I feel he is probably worth playing 1 of.

I ran this exact deck with -3 The Hand’s Judgment and +3 Milk of the Poppy. For this deck, I don’t think Hands Judgment is actually any good, because you want in general to be using your gold on heavy threats and not really caring what your opponent is playing. If you choose tactically, you will always win challenges. Milk of the Poppy is also too good not to have. Especially in a meta that is predominately Baratheon (and being able to shutdown his +6-14 power is insane).

Otherwise I loved the deck! Went 7-0 at our Store Championship.

Also, I can confirm that Wildfire is not missed in this deck, and adding summons would be overkill. Wildfire is only good in situations where they (obviously) have 3+ characters on the board. If you are playing correctly, you should be burning down their board with your superior military. If they ever have 5+ characters on the board, you are either playing wrong or they just had a better draw than you and a wildfire isn’t really going to save you.

Yeah, it doesnt need Wildfire. As to the Hand’s Judgmenet, I started playing it after everyone started putting it in to counter Dracarys and other kill events. You counter their counter and they are wrecked. If no one in your meta is playing Hands Judgement, you could cut it for other things.

@Alexfrog, what do you think about the Crown of Gold? Is there space for it? Plus, do you think Brothel Madame might fit here? Thank you.

Yes, Crown of Gold needs to be added, and I am testing out playing 2 Brothel Madame, I think its good.

I am testing right now: -2 Braided Warrior, -1 Jorah, -1 PTTS (because weaker military). +2 Brothel Maiden, +1 The Hound, +1 Crown of Gold.

Also worth considering Milk of the Poppy now due to Nymeria.

@Alexfrogafter testing Brothel Madame i am not so excited , i prefer braided warriors to be more aggressive in MIL (often your opponet don't pay the gold and they are a little bit useless) any impression after your test? what about Shadowblack Lane, it's not bad after my test but with only 5x faction's events sometimes it's random or a plus; i cutted 1 seal for a fire and blood(2x) i play 3 milk at the moment(switching tears of lys;meta choice) then i was thinking to switch calm over westeros plot for something more aggressive..recently i feel that is a little bit useless(always great but..) or that opponets learned to going around it too easy..i mean switching with games of thrones? impressions? thanks!
