I saw the Deergarden decklist on here and decided to take it to a store champ the same day, and ended up going 5-1 with a bye. I was a big fan of the Tyrell/Sun Sungarden deck and thought this looked similar in some respects so I thought I'd give it a shot, even without having test reps in. I'm not an expert pilot of this deck, I'm a mediocre player and netdecking chump who did well with it so I thought I'd document it, but I'm probably not the best resource if you have any questions. I added a Selyse because I think she's gas and her traits are relevant in this deck, I cut a BATMF.

R1 - Bye - Win. Played some Hearthstone and beat an aggro shaman so a good start to the day.

R2 - Bara/Watch - Win. He set up Benjen and Weymar vs my Arbor and Highgarden. He played Summons for Melisandre but held her since I had no characters on board. Next turn I hit Mel with Heads on Spikes and Varys away his death trigger characters. He wasn't able to draw characters and Chamber/Throne ran away with the game.

R3 - NW Crossing - Win. I kept his Qhorin knelt with Mel and Seen in Flames away his good cards. Valar and kneel effects kept him from having a good icon spread for Crossing and Chamber/Throne was able to outpace the Wall.

R4 - Tyrell/Summer - Win. There were best in house prizes for this tournament so there was sweet swag on the line here. He got early power rush with renown characters and Superior Claim, but I had Chamber/Throne to keep him from running away with the game. I was trying to clear his board but he had a Lady in Waiting for Brienne and a disgusting 3 Bodyguards for Renly. I was able to Cressen away 2 Bodyguards to set up Varys into Valar for a full clear and was ahead enough on resources to turn the corner and win with Feast for Crows.

Top 4 Round 1 - Targ Fealty - Win. My opponent was playing a sweet brew that kills a lot of your characters, plays 2x Heads on Spikes and a bunch of recursion and card draw to play a long game. I got Chamber/Throne online early for inevitability, lucksacked Khal Drogo with Heads on Spikes when my opponent missed with both his. He put Mel into the dead pile early with a Crone but I never really needed her. I also saw all 3 Seen in Flames to pull his relevant cards. His House of the Undying vs my empty board gave him some hope, getting 2 Vanguard Lancer triggers to slow me down, but again Feast for Crows managed to get me to the finish line too quickly.

Finals - Martell/Stag - Loss. This was a control/board wipe mirror where my opponent had a lot more card advantage and better inevitability with the Boneway so I believed going in I was in a bad matchup, and I'm reasonably sure that more experienced pilots of this deck would agree. I knew that Chamber/Throne would be key to this matchup and was crestfallen when my opponent set up double Chamber into Building Orders for Throne. Card disdvantage cards like Gift of Arbor Red and BATMF feel pretty bad versus the Building Orders/Counting Coppers/Littlefinger grinder deck. At one point he fetched a Greenblood Trader off Summons because he is truly the mayor of Valuetown. I grabbed an early power lead but his Boneway kept me from beating down effectively. I was able to find an Iron Throne which was quickly destroyed by his Pyromancers that shut down my Feast for Crows. 2nd time through the plot deck I decided that I needed to highroll in order to have any chance, and I managed to pull a second Pyromancers with Heads on Spikes, and Winter Festival bought me a lot of free power. I then topdecked my only Mel to kneel his Mel and had a game winning unopposed power challenge that was unfortunately stymied by Vengeance. I took a couple of other lines that were probably bad in the game (exposing Hobber to a Viper Eyes I knew he had was ill advised in a value matchup) but I managed to make my opponent sweat it out in the end. We went into the last turn tied at 13 power, but he played out a couple of stealth power characters and a got Mel trigger to put me dead on board so I shook his hand and scooped up my cards.
