Just thought I'd post up this pretty conventional Greyjoy build I took out to SCs in Maryland the last two weeks, performed well at each with a total record of 7-3, placing 3rd in a king of swiss tourney and 2nd in a 4 round cut to 4.

It grew out of me being uninspired for new high-end decks with Tyrion's Chain cards, and bored with some of my older standbys, so I stayed in my comfort zone with my oldest friend, Greyjoy, but shook it up with a banner that I've not enjoyed in the past.

The deck pulled together easily from there, since it was just a matter of asking "What goes well with Salladhor without it being too steamy a pile of jank?" I ended up with a pretty traditional Greyjoy deck that just has a bit of draw, and a reasonable package of potential airdrops. I amped up the initiative control a ton because I hate going second against Rains.

It plays pretty simply; the hardest thing is really the plots, since it has very few auto-throws. Other than that you just want to manipulate initiative, play to whatever you have, and grind out efficient challenge phases.

Two of my losses were exacerbated badly by failing to find any saves or dupes (Lanni Rains and Tyrell Watch). This also happened in one other game, which I climbed out of by destroying and stealing their Iron Mines (among other things). The other loss was just a good old-fashioned Entire Lannister Family Beatdown. The deck set up 6 cards twice, and never had a bummer setup. Seastone did a ton of work, both with successful triggers and torpedoing their efficiency to play around it. Especially with a Hammer or Longship on the board, they lose so much flexibility. Only one game was decided by an aggressive Valar.

All in all, this kind of just ended up being a pretty traditional "good stuff" deck with the Salladhor flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised at its strong performance. Hammer some fools down if you like!

I had no luck whatsoever with this deck. I played it twice and found the problem to be with the plots. I never had enough gold to get many characters of consequence on the board and found the experience frustrating.

@ShaunKetterman Sorry you had poor results, obviously it went a bit smoother for me. I did say the plot game was challenging, since it doesn't have a clear "throw noble and drop euron" type plot in it, but it generally paid off for me to be running the more impactful tempo plots.

It does have 3 plots in it that could be called "econ," as well as almost a full suite of limiteds and additional supplements via euron and salladhor. My meta's also saturated in Pentoshi, so bonus money would be rolling in almost every game.
