We all know Core Tywin is the boss. Sorry, Lions Tywin! There's nothing we can do about that. Unless we build the entire deck around him! And Lions Tywin does not offer only one lousy game mechanic but two: Pillage and Small Council!

Let' see what we can make of this:

The Council Consents is hilarious after your Small Council member got knelt with "The Rains of Castamere" because the opponent just provided the trigger condition to stand him back up. :-D

There are several other cute combos:

Looks like fun, but perhaps a bit tight on plot economy?

It is fun. :)

You have Trading to pay for the Mountain, and the rest of your deck costs 5 or less (Ser Kevan Lannister costs 3 with a Kingsroad). The other plots give 3, 4, 5, 5, and 6 (Here to Serve) gold, that usually is enough. And you have no econ problems at all with Tyrion in play. But I was indeed playing A Noble Cause instead of Close Call in the beginning, but with so many 3x I feel I need a back-up plot.

Looks like fun! Thanks for posting.

I have been messing around with a "bad Tywin" kraken deck in our meta and I like the addition of the lousy small council mechanic. Have you tried working in Victarion? Would be great to appoint him and get a double intimidate.
Locations are dominating right now so I have a newly made lord and a pair of put to the torch.

I am 50-50 on the sg marauders and considering Wildling Horde to get a solid 7 str character to help against bara. I have always thought ahead of the tide was a bad card. How has this deck fared against bara or wall decks?

I understand the wheelhouse combo is there but is it worth it with only 1 of them in the deck?

Thanks!

Victarion competes with Asha in my opinion. Asha Greyjoy has the advantage that she doesn't need support to put Appointed to good use.

I had Newly-Made Lord in earlier drafts. I decided to rely on Treachery and Sea Bitch to combat these troublesome locations because these cards work against the cost 4 locations, too. 1x Put to the Torch is probably a good call.

You're probably right about Ahead of the Tide, too. It's deck-thinning (not bad for a combo deck like this), made me win initiative a couple of times, and gets my card count to 12. There are probably better alternatives (another Sea Bitch maybe or Risen from the Sea), but I want to test it a bit more. Cersei's Wheelhouse is not a big investment and a good setup card, and I wanted to pack as many draw as possible. You don't have to win initiative all the time, sometimes the opponent wants you to go first.

I haven't played against a Wall deck, but one match-up was won thanks to clearing his board (Gregor, Tears are good against , First Snow, Marched, The Things I Do For Love was MVP in this match).

Risen may be a dead card in hand due to limited targets.

Maester Wendamyr is a good low cost option for a 1 of to help with to trigger Asha and knock down the wall. He also gives you another option for the here to serve if you already have a duped or dead Pycelle. Another Lordsport Shipwright would help improve setups. Those two could replace the Ahead of the tide cards.

A solid higher cost option that is good with pillage is 1-2 captain's daughters. Plenty of juicy targets for her. First snow would limit their marshaling options and CD would further limit options. Considering you can trigger pillage on defense it also may limit what challenges the opponent would do if you send a solid card of theirs to the top of their deck.

Thank you! Captain's Daughter is an interesting suggestion although costly. I wouldn't want to include more cost 2 because of my focus on the First Snow turn.

But I actually like my Ahead of the Tide. Try it out! :-D The deck works great right now, still have to lose after 7 games on OCTGN. The hand destruction worked great against a passive power / deck yesterday, with Tywin additionally controlling the opponent's draw.
