Despite the name, there is no Jon Snow in this deck. Trust me, he's garbage. Don't play him. New Jon looks pretty good though, and might be able to make a radically different version of this deck in the future.

I built this deck with one simple idea in mind. I wanted to have a turn where I offensively Valared, and used Maester Aemon's save more than once. The chain goes: Kneel Maester Aemon to save Maester Aemon, use Aeron Damphair to stand Maester Aemon, then kneel Maester Aemon to save someone else.

But of course Maester Aemon only saves Night's Watch characters, and so his value is much lower in a banner deck. In fact, if we're playing Greyjoy, it would normally be good to play this great event which saves Greyjoy characters. But we're not running enough Greyjoy characters to make it work, either. So let's pull out that dusty old event from the binder and give it a try, shall we?

It actually tends to work surprisingly well. But don't get your hopes up. Unlike the legendary jank builds from the magical lands of Britain beyond the sea, I don't see this kind of jank winning anything important any time soon. But it is undeniably a fun deck to play with your friends. I'll give you an example.

I was playing against a standard Tyrell Knight rush deck. The kind of deck that Qhorin both loves and hates, because there's tons of non-uniques out there to slaughter, but the juicier targets are just a little too strong if you're not playing your winter plots on that turn. But we know better than that. We have two winter plots in this deck.

So I had Aeron Damphair, Maester Aemon, Maester Wendamyr, and Qhorin Halfhand. I'm starting to build a good lead. I'm thinking I'll wait one more turn to find some more saves and then offensive valar to put the game away. Then my opponent surprises me by valaring himself. It makes sense; based on what he sees, he can kill 3 or 2 of my characters (depending if he noticed the Aemon-Aeron interaction yet), plus whatever other chuds I'm forgetting to mention.

I should mention at this time that I had two copies of Healing Expertise in my hand. I kill Aemon first. Kneel him to save himself. Reaction: stand Aemon. Kill Qhorin. Kneel Aemon to save. Play healing expertise, kneel Wendamyr to save himself. Reaction: Stand Wendamyr. Play 2nd healing expertise, kneel Wendamyr to save Damphair.

Fun times. Most of the time you're just going to be doing standard Greyjoy offensive valar stuff though. Kneel their board and get 3 unopposed challenges + dominance if you're lucky. Not a bad trick. Certainly better in Greyjoy Rains though, where you can flip a new plot and get claim again.
