I took this low-curve false Banner of the Kraken deck to the OCTGN League and finished 34th missing the TOP 32 for strength of schedule.

This deck can do a lot of different things:

OCTGN League:

  1. Loss against Rains: I opened with Feast for Crows, having the Iron Throne in hand. But after a Shipwright knelt my Kingsroad, I made a huge mistake and only marshalled Victarion thinking I would win dominance anyway. Then his Euron pillaged (!) a copy of the Throne, so he won dominance on my Feast turn AND I couldn't play my Throne the entire game. It was an uphill battle from there. 9-15 on turn 4.

  2. Loss against Wolf: Standard New Margaery deck. He didn't saw her, but 2 Bodyguards (which I could get rid of with Cressen and Confiscation), Arya, Renly, Eddard, and Brienne by turn 3, each (!) with a duplicate. This massive renown combo let him win power more quickly. 9-15 on turn 4.

+3x Nightmares -2x In the Name of Your King! - 1x Support of the People Nightmares wins games!!!

  3. Win against Stag: Interesting Claim 2 Army deck. Even though Melisandre kept an appointed Asha down, I was winning and dominance all the time. 15-1 on turn 4.

  4. Win against Wolf: Another "Tinder" Marge deck without Marge hitting the table. The two of us had suboptimal setups: Brienne and Sansa vs. reducer, Drowned Priest, and Theon (only 3 cards!). ROUND 1: No Throne in hand, so I spiked Rickon, while he searched for Margaery, but only found a duplicate for Brienne. I milked Brienne and Fast Eddie got discarded for . ROUND 2: I succesfully dug for the Throne with Coppers, supported by his Time of Plenty. Aeron on my side and his many saves (1 duplicate, 2 Ladies-in-waiting, 1 Bodyguard) made pointless, my 2 Priests gave me advantage over his Sansa, so we battled for . ROUND 3: I got ahead with A Feast for Crows and Superior Claim. He saw only the weaker half of the Renown crew: Brienne, Randyll, Loras, so my STR6 Drowned Men and STR5 Aeron could keep up with the help of an Iron Fleet Scout. ROUND 4: A timely Confiscation vs Valar stripped his Randyll Tarly with 3 power from his Bodyguard. I played Asha and NML to discard his Highgarden. 15-5 on turn 4.

  5. Win against Lion: Another 3-card setup, but the hand had everything I needed vs Bara: Victarion, Throne, and Sea Tower (plus Risen, NML, Milk, Shipwright in hand) vs. Ser Amory Lorch, The Red Keep and The Kingsroad. ROUND 1: I opened Feast while he spiked the Shipwright and made me go first. With only 4 gold from his plot I decided to play Nightmares on his Kingsroad. The NML discarded the Red Keep. I drew a card with Moon Boy, while he ambushed Gold Cloaks and Burned Men to deny Victarion's intimidate and win and . ROUND 2: My Heads on Spikes hit Robert Baratheon, while he summoned Melisandre (Core). Aeron and Cressen hit the table, which left me with 4 monocons after Melisandre knelt Vic. Cressen discarded a Bodyguard, while his Seen In Flames discarded my Milk. I killed NML... ROUND 3: which was a huge mistake considering his First Snow. Very luckily, my Counting Coppers helped out with a perfect draw: Asha, Milk, Iron Fleet Scout. He let me go first which let me milk Melisandre. He marshalled Tyrion, Asha killed Ser Amory Lorch and stood up to defend against ambushed Burned Men. Victarion could get to STR 8 (Scout and Risen from round 1), so he couldn't prevent Vic's intimidate with neither Tyrion nor Melisandre. ROUND 4: I played Wildfire to go first, even with Trading with the Pentoshi and Mel kneeling Asha, he couldn't match my STR 18 . 15-4 on turn 4.

+1 Victarion Greyjoy +1 Chamber of the Painted Table -1 Drowned Men -1 In the Name of Your King!

  6. Win against Wolf: Funny double-Unexpected Delay deck inspired by the decks I posted here on thronesDB a while ago. :-D ROUND 1: He had the perfect start with Sansa, Arya and Drowned Priest, each with an attachment. My Heads on Spikes missed, but I could flood the board with cheap characters. ROUND 2: I anticipated his Valar Morghulis, so I played Marched to the Wall which left him with 2 characters. I marshalled Aeron and The Iron Throne which let me resurrect a Shipwright. ROUND 3: His Heads on Spikes hit my Littlefinger, while I played A Feast for Crows. We both played Theon Greyjoy. Afraid of We Do Not Sow, I defended all challenges. At the end of the round I was winning 6-4. ROUND 4: Now he anticipated my Valar Morghulis and played Varys's Riddle, but I could save Aeron with Iron Mines and Risen. Superior Claim, dominance and unopposed let me get further ahead: 9-6. His Harrenhal (GoH) prevented me from getting dead Theon back. ROUND 5: Both characters in play got marched, I drew 5 cards and marshalled Asha and a Raiding Longship which he countered perfectly with Syrio Forel and a Fishmonger with an attachment. I attacked and saved Asha with Iron Mines 11-6 ROUND 6: I confiscated the attachment, he played his 2nd Unexpected Delay, which bounced Victarion Greyjoy and Syrio Forel. His Asha with Little Bird prevented my Asha from standing. 12-6 ROUND 7: He had to sacrifice Asha and marshalled Syrio and Aeron, which was not enough to stop my Asha and Vic. 15-6 on turn 7.
