This is the deck with which I kinged the Swiss and went on to lose in the final at the Bristol regional, then finished in the top 16 at UK Nationals. It was meant to be a funny-ha-ha deck just seeing what happens when you play 3x Queensguard with 3x Khal Drogo, but it was accidentally very strong.

In most matchups, the gameplan is roughly: Open 2x Exchange, build up a good hand, reset or bait the opponent into doing so then drop Drogo, put Queensguard on him, and win. Because it's a Targ good-stuff deck, it also sometimes just wins before you get around to that.

The two things that I like best about this deck are as follows: firstly, while it's a good-stuff build without a lot of the rushy tools that are presently doing very well, Queensguard can provide such a huge burst when your opponent isn't expecting it, especially on Drogo. Secondly, opting for Wars instead of Crossing or HRD Meereen allows you to make use of valuable flex plots like Breaking Ties and King in the North that aren't always possible to play in a seven-card Targ plot deck because you don't have an overwhelming number of suitable loyal characters or kings. You can run two resets to suit the situation as well as Blood of the Dragon to bite at the right time, and none of this will ever overwhelm you because you don't have to flip them before you're ready.

If I could fit in an 11th plot, it would be Annals of Castle Black, just to smooth out the burn package that's there largely to distract opponents into resetting Dany so that you can safely drop Drogo. It can create blowout turns, but every other effect plot is more important and I've needed both of the econ plots in just enough games that I'd be reluctant to drop one (though often both Harvest and Trade Routes are among the last three or four plots to be flipped).

It's a well-rounded deck with few disastrous weaknesses but it does have essentially no answer to the 6-cost Wall, and it struggles to break through if a Stark player sets up a well-protected Wyman quickly enough. Otherwise, it's been very strong against a wide variety of archetypes, and has the options to allow for interesting mulligan decisions based on what you think you're about to face.
