Overall Winner in a 17 player Rookery Tournament .

A weak deck to be honest, such is the state of Lannister apart from the bolton variant. I chose Lannister predicting that no one else would, and thus enable me to win the top of house full art cards. I did poorly in Swiss and had already packed up my belongings having lost all but 1 game (not counting my bye), and that one win coming against an opponent whom lost all games with a fun janky deck. Somehow I still qualified on strength of schedule and had an incredibly lucky run in the knockout stages, with all 3 opponents drawing terribly.

Wouldn't recommend this deck to anyone, but there were some interest in it. It is a glass cannon, and luck dependent. Heads on Spikes, I Never Bet Against My Family and set up are important. It lacks consistency and is Cersei Lannister (LoCR) dependent. So much so that I would easily choose an unduped Cersei over a duped Tywin on a Valar Dohaeris turn.

Rookery cards: Beyond Reproach (plot) Late Summer Feast (plot)

Swiss rounds:

  1. Bye - Initially paired up and started rookery but a late registration shuffled everyone and I got the bye.

  2. Loss against Bara Fealty - Made a stupid mistake of allowing Bara player to go first on turn 1. While I had my Cersei Lannister (LoCR) out, Robert Baratheon was marshaled and promptly intimidated her. Ours is the Fury and Ser Justin Massey helped big bob enter multiple challenges. A plot 2 milk on the queen meant the entire deck stalled.

  3. Win against Martell WtC - Opponent was trying an interesting variant reliant on Doran's Game coupled with Ricasso. However the lack of aggro and slow tempo of his deck meant that I closed on the turn he gained 10 power with a Doran's Game.

  4. Loss against NW Crossing - A wrong gamble against a ranger deck running Haunted Forest Scout led to a Put to the Sword on my Cersei. It was all downhill from there.

7th placing - qualified on SoS

Quarterfinals Win against Tyrell KoS - Opponent opened with only The Arbor and Oldtown, and had little characters in hand, playing Pleasure Bargein the first round. Despite forgetting to treachery it as I was chatting with another friend, her board state took too long to catch up. I went to town with Cersei Lannister (LoCR) alone. Ser Jaime Lannister (Core) was lost to Valar D and both Tywin and Tyrion were not seen, but they hardly mattered.

Semifinals Win against Targ HRD (MeEreen) - Opened with weenies, but drew into Cersei. Cersei was really big here, as every Meereen and Hizdahr zo Loraq trigger was a potential Cersei trigger. Tyrion was dracarys-ed (a target I was willing to risk), but no other burn cards including Queen Daenerys Targaryen (TFM) was seen. A double forced march almost prevented my crossing, but a lucky I Never Bet Against My Family found Ser Robert Strong, which not only gave me an unopposed and enabled my crossing + therefore superior claim, but also provided claim soak.

Finals Win against Greyjoy Crossing - Game over in plot phase 3 (video available soon on Eddie's channel). Opponent opened with Balon Greyjoy (Core) and Raider from Pyke and no locations. I set up 5 cards worth of weenies and locations, drew into Tywin Lannister (Core) and played him out in plot 1 with a bodyguard. Despite not seeing Cersei, two superior claims, and a lucky heads on spike in plot 3 sealed the game.
