This pretty little thing made 6-1 at the fist Turin Tournament. I’m playing it since Oct. and i’m happy about how this works. It reminds me a lot the good old 1.0 Targaryen Jumpers that we all loved. Parings: Greyjoy/Stark (w) - Greyjoy fealty (L) - Targaryen fealty (W) - Baratheon fealty (W). Top 8 Martell/Rose (W). Top 4 Baratheon fealty (W). Final Greyjoy fealty (W). This has a good matchup against Bara fealty (he cannot kneel your ambush and untill he doesn’t draw Seen in Flames you’re in a pretty good spot) and Targaryen fealty (your early aggression is enough most of the time. TwdfL can jump dragons in hand when you think he has Dracarys or when he commits whit Dany) but isn’t so great against Greyjoy (Risen from the sea is a real pain in the ass for your early aggression). If the kraken doesn’t see draw, you can overvalue him tho. About this matchup there are so many things to say that I don’t know how to start, so i’ll say only this: 3x Treachery. Always open with Sneak. If the opponent has a good board, this means that you can hurt him with a green claim2, stall with Long Plan and then clean with Wildfire. If he is reticent and has a small board, punish him with a red claim 2 followed up by marched. All the plot deck is about aggro, so, be aggro. Confiscation is here for infamous Seal of the Hand and milked Tyrion. Feedbacks are always apreciated.

Looks nice deck! I like to be agroo :-) One question: why put to the sword over Tears of Lys??? Tears is much more easy to trigger, and your MIL and INT icons are equal.

I prefer Sword over Lys just because it can deal with Dany, Mel and Little Bird efficently. Sure, i have confinement, but i don’t want to rely on that for my Killing effects. I never try Lys, btw, just because i split the Collection with my Dad and my Brother, so i don’t have access to 2x of it. I don’t regret it, tho. You can change it and tell me how this performs. However, sword isn’t so difficult to trigger, with 3x Hotah, Jaime, the Hound and the widow.

I’m surprisingly amused on how this deck plays out: it can play like Stark/Greyjoy aggro, but with a lot more options and opportunity.

The only things I don’t understand are the 2 Syrio’s Training which might be nice on Tyrion and Edric but seems pretty luckluster without them. Are they really better than a third Lannisport Moneylender and a third The Roseroad ?

Thank you for the comment and the compliment. Yes, you’re right about Syrio’s training, it is the next card i’m going to take out, but it has a place in this deck for sure. It’s setup friendly, on Tyrion, Edric, Arianne and Caleotte is amazing and you can put it on a claim soak, waiting for your big threats. You can try to remove it for a bit of economy or for another TidfL.

@academoReally nice deck. Im curious, are 10 location sufficient enough? Usually I see most Martell X decks plays around 14 locations including Sunspear.

academo 550

I think that for this kind of deck 10 location are enough. You don’t want to draw them in mid game because your draw is inexistent and you have to keep up the pressure. The plot deck hasn’t an high income, but it helps to mantain board advantage without using too many characters (with a claim 2 a 3 gold investment can take out a 5 gold one, with marched the same). In the final I see just 1 kingsroad but it’s enough: Tyrion and The Long Plan filled the hole. I tried Sunspear, but never find it usefull. When it hits the ground oppo just stops to make military, but you usually have a large board/a lot of claim soak so that type of challenge isn’t usefull for him anyway.

Grats.

I play something pretty similar. I do run Tears of Lys and I must say that it is a card that definitely has no problem getting triggered here. Also have x1 Viper and to be honest with all the high mill str he’s not a terrible card to have late game.

The Long Plan into Counting Coppers is pretty damn awesome to refill your hand and not feel the 2g downside when counting income. But you have a few good plots to flip into after Long plan.

Anything you’d change after the tournament?

I ran it tonight. I liked it but I think for my needs it needs more locations/reducers. I just couldnt get the economy I needed

academo 550

In the current cardpool i wouldn’t change anything. I’m going to try Tears of Lys, but I don’t know if it works. I’m just trying to take all the possible paths. Long Plan+Counting is amazing, but i can’t find place for it. As you can see I can’t take out a single plot without compromising the whole strategy (maybe Confiscation. I’ll try it, but it’s a bit risky). I think that 10 economy locations + 6 economy characters are enough for this deck, otherwise you are going to draw dead cards in the mid game and this can cost you the match. However, you can try to adapt it to your style of play adding 1x roseroad or 1x western fiefdoms. Let me know how this works.

www.youtube.com Here you can find the final recorded. The comment is in italian, but i hope you can enjoy it anyway.

Congratulation Fabiano, i really like the deck, and the well played final. At this time with the dominace of Targ fealty, is fine to se win something different ;)

paulsk 1

How do you deal with the low reserve on Sneak Attack as a first plot?

Thanes 2

What about The Things I Do For Love? I have a big problem to trigger it… Wouldn’t that be one of the cards to switch with Tears of Lys?

academo 550

TTIDFL is a key card, no way you can remove it, sorry. You have to use it on the claim soak, in this way your mil challenge can reach the big threat of the opponent’s board. Spare just one or two gold and you’ll use it efficently. Without TTIDFL this just becomes a different type of deck.

Avelfaltazi 1

Hello, congratulation for the wins and the deck, was just wondering about Joffrey how is it important in the deck, is he here just to go with Widow, can’t we find something more usefull to add ?

academo 550

He is a Lord and a unique Lannister char, so he’s really usefull in order to trigger TTIDFL and Treachery. He is sub optimal and can be easily replaced with a larger cards pool. Now he’s just decent.

Avelfaltazi 1

Yeah right !

Another question, i ran Your deck on the afternoon and find myself struggling With the second marched ttW It was always the loosing plot anything you would change for it ? ( played against heavy military decks)

academo 550

I think the second Marched is really needed. The plot deck is all about tempo and aggression and with marched you can clean what the military challenge of the previous turn can’t clean. It helps also against risen from the sea and fire and blood, two key cards that you have to consider in two of the most dangerous match-up. However, you can replace it with a second Sneak Attack or a second Winds of Winter. Another possibility is given by Counting Coppers, but I don’t think you can lower the aggression capacity of the deck just like that and play with the same style.

Thanes 2

I’m currently trying Filthy Accusations instead of the second Marched to the Wall and it’s working quite well… The problem is the low initiative. I play in a heavy military / rush meta so I don’t manage to be that aggresive to use second March.

Avelfaltazi 1

Indeed this can be a nice option, but in some games I have to admit that double MttW is just so good it can win you the game turn 3, you just have so many char you can discard, that if you were smart on set up, double marched is so damn painfull for the opponent, even more if he is not aware of the second one comming…

@academoWill u make any changes to the deck post TRtW when it’s release?

academo 550

I think Nymeria is just too good to pass, even if she doesn’t really fit the strategy of the deck. -1 Joffrey +1 Nymeria, that’s probably the change.
