The deck performed well all day. It went undefeated in a four round tournament as well as during the cut to top 4 afterwards.

In a previous tournament I felt the struggles against . However, this tournament was a different outcome. The first three opponents in the tournament were against fealty. This was followed by another matchup in the top four cut. In each of these matchups, the pressure kept on the opponents didn’t let the aggressive nature of to take effect and turn the tides.

The Hand’s Judgment was a key addition to the deck and provided many additional useful opportunities than the Tears of Lys that existed in its place previously. Thus far, this has placed first, second and third in the three tournaments that it participated in. It may as well be what I bring to the store championships.

I am considering replacing Calm Over Westeros with a different plot for the store championships. It has nice gold potential and occasionally is helpful at the right time at stifling military while I build my board up better. But, often it is doing little else than giving me that 5 gold. I am even considering Rebuilding as an option, with the potential to reshuffle in Dracarys!, Fire and Blood, The Hand’s Judgment, The Kingsroad and Milk of the Poppy mid game with a better initiative than Calm Over Westeros. But there are plenty of other potential options that I am still considering. That is just an easy comparison in my head that keeps the gold curve where it has performed well and provides some potential improvement.

Grats dude.

I like the idea of Rebuilding better than it actually is right now. Especially out of Targ, draw isn’t good enough to guarantee seeing those cards again.

Playing mainly Targ myself, Calm Over Westeros is a tough one for me as well right now. But there’s a lot of 1st turn Sneak Attack shenanigans right now and even if it means protecting your hand turn 1 I think that’s fine enough.

A Fortified Position might not be a terrible 5g plot here. Yea it’ll hold you back 1 turn (you can still dracarys). But if that means stopping a Stannis and the rest of the Bara nonsens, or stopping Balon for a turn for you to build up to do some damage the following turn, it may not be too bad.

@linkingverbs The Fortified Position inclusion is another one that I had been considering lately. It keeps that turn where Rise of the Kraken is played to a minimum as well, blanking the stealth and other keywords that could get that final push at the right moment on top of breaking free from Stannis Baratheon for a turn as you mentioned.

Calm Over Westeros was good in those situations mentioned as the first plot drop, so that does have to be considered, because A Noble Cause isn’t always going to be the best option there and something along the lines of Fortified Position doesn’t fit that category there.

If that only kept ambush from also firing, that would be extremely helpful against as well at the right moment. Outside of maybe Supporting the Faith, we don’t have that sort of protection at the moment and I don’t believe that it is worth playing unless doesn’t become too dominant. However, leaving the house card standing, Dracarys! is still a threat in those circumstances as well as Fire and Blood and Waking the Dragon.

Ironically thus far, I have seen little to no and haven’t had to protect against it as much lately. After some practice games against , hopefully I can sort out some other small changes that might be necessary. The times that I did go against a I ended up with a Seal of the Hand and that seemed go be enough at the time.

None of these options ring out to me quite yet as an obvious plot choice, but this is helpful and good suggestions.

I also assume that after the next chapter pack comes out that one Waking the Dragon will be replaced by a Golden Crown. The Waking the Dragon can have some serious game changing potential after standing for an unexpected Dracarys! or an unexpected challenge, but there are a decent percentage of times where the plays aren’t there at all.

The Rattleshirt’s Raiders is being considered for replacement with Syrio Forel. I believe that the support for additional attachment removal is somewhat unnecessary, and the chance to provide for defensive stealth or further aggression could prove significant benefits to the deck. With these two additions in the next pack however, I would be adding significant costs over the replacement pieces they are going in for which could hinder the way the deck plays. The Syrio replacement makes more sense, but the crown takes a 0 event and replaces it with a 4 cost attachment (3 at the right moment).
