We had 14 players yesterday at the first Store Championship in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Full stats are in the Annals of Castle Black. I was lucky enough to win the tournament playing a Lannister / Rose deck that I threw together a few days before (primarily hoping to handle Targ Fealty, which I never faced of course).

Round 1: Vs Gordie (Greyjoy / Martell) I setup strong with four chuds and Widow’s Wail. Early in the game I landed a Tears on Asha and cancelled his save with Hand’s Judgment. Then I had to work around Caleotte for a while while attacking his hand and winning other challenges with the Hound.

1-0

Round 2: Vs Coldy (Lanni No Agenda) I setup Tyrion duped, a Burned Men, and a Merchant, while he had Cersei and a few other cards. Turn 1, I used a Kingsroad and Noble Cause to afford both a duped Tywin and Lannisport. I focused on defending intrigue from Cersei for a couple turns, cleared a Milk, and then landed a Seal on Tywin. He closed the game quickly along with standy Randy and Clash of Kings.

2-0

Round 3: Vs Cameron (Stark/Greyjoy) He mulliganed into an awful setup, while I flipped Cersei, Margaery, a Gardener, and a Fiefdom. Cameron Bran’d my attempt to Treachery Arya’s ability, but then he was short on claim soak and the game ended rather quickly.

3-0

Round 4: Vs Daniel (Bara/Tyrell) This was a long, grindy game that nearly went to time. Daniel has Iron Throne and Melisandre early, followed shortly by Painted Table and then Stannis with a dupe. By mid-game I had Margaery, Randyll with Heartsbane, Tywin, and the Wheelhouse doing work, but Daniel had wisely Confiscated my Seal. Eventually I was able to claw back from being down about 2 power to 7 and win with Clash of Kings and multiple renown guys.

4-0

Round 5: Vs Parker (Stark/Lanni) I setup a Roseroad, Courtesan, and Randyll, then marshaled Tywin turn 1. By mid-game, Cersei cleared his hand, Littlefinger refilled mine, and Margaery paired nicely with Randyll to give me a defense from Parker’s high-claim challenges.

5-0

Top 4: Vs Parker (Stark/Lanni) Our rematch was much closer. By mid-game he had Robb, Arya and Sansa all duped, along with Tyrion and the Hound. I fell behind by about four power, and had to tread carefully around his military challenges or risk losing Jaime to Ice. Eventually my card advantage from Pycelle and Lannisport turned the game around.

Win

Finals: Vs Shayne (Greyjoy/Fealty) I mulliganed into an awful board, easily my worst of the tourny — Margaery, Burned Men, and Widow’s Wail. Shayne had Theon, two other dudes, a Sea Tower, and a Scout. By turn 3 he had Balon and Euron out, and he could stealth around my Tywin, so it wasn’t looking good, but I mustered a Seal on Tywin and a Heartsbane on Randy to hit him back hard. I cancelled Shayne’s Superior Claim, knowing this was a straight-up race to the finish. Eventually I was at 14 (somehow), with Shayne at 10, so he won initiative turn 4 when we both flipped Clash. I thought I was toast, but he did a military challenge and totally missed Joffrey sitting there, ready to claim my final power when Margaery died to claim. It was brutal.

Win

Post-Tourny Notes I’d drop one Growing Strong for another Hand’s Judgment.I’m still debating whether 2 Noble Cause is correct, but this deck does have a ton of Lords/Ladies. Clash was a last-second addition (over Marched) that gave me some serious rush power. It should stay.

How did you like Cersei’s Wheelhouse during your games?

Thanks! The Wheelhouse was great during one game when I had it early. In the finals it was in my initial hand, and I mulliganed in part because I knew it would be less than useful against Greyjoy. I think it’s worth the single copy.

I put together, literally, this exact list with only 1 difference, no wheelhouse and 1 more hands judgment, last week.

During testing, every single setup was just awful, so I scrapped it without further testing. Glad to see it was just rough luck during my (short) test phase because this deck SHOULD be fun and rock.

Jkowiski, I’d say this deck is about average in terms of setup. It has a fair number of low cost characters, and a fair number of high cost characters, with not much in-between.

Thanks for the great list, I played an almost identical version yesterday at a locals tournament, going 4-0. The changes were: -2 Growing Strong, +1 Hand’s Judgement, +1 Put to the Sword. The latter card was clutch in two games.

@Norwichbane, that’s awesome! I’ve been debating a Sword or two myself.

I also played a scary similar deck to this at my local tourney going undefeated. +1 Hand, -1 Cesei’s Wheelhouse, -1 Growing Strong, +1 Heartsbane, +1 Milk Clash was the money card for me in this deck and an ambushed Widow’s Wail on Joffrey saved my @ss once.

Wow this is magic! Played At a local tourney and it was a 4-1. It was my first ever tourney and i managed to get second. Just a few points behind the first.

1-0 Vs NW fealty 2-0 vs lanni fealty 3-0 vs lanni/rose 3-1 bs bara fealty (loss by 2 power tokens due to time ran out)

Minor tweaks -1 cersei’s wheelhouse +1 burned man +1 jaime lanni

Thanks!

Awesome! I’m glad other players are having success with this deck.
