Dave Bamford of Banter Behind The Throne piloted my deck to the first place in Northampton.
This is a deck I worked on for a long while and am happy to say I almost got right. I would cut the Filthy Accusations for a Wildfire if I were to play it tomorrow but aside from that the deck is phenomenal.
How does the deck play? You can play the renown rush route, play big guys and go to town. You can control the board with Mel and attrition with draw from The Red Keep. It is versatile and can power out a ton of powerful characters. I feel like a deck like this is still under the radar despite its strength.
Important is to protect your Robert and Randyll against Tears and the like, don’t be afraid to be aggressive but remember that Street of Sisters and renown also work on defense.
Try it, tweak it to your taste and go to town.

Iron Throne is basically there for the Greyjoy match up and the mirror. I don’t want them to trigger the Painted Table or trigger Damphair. Getting dom is useful but not really important. Wanted a few more support targets and that is why just an Iron Throne. Also have no space for a Painted Table. The Warhammer is worth it, two wouldnt be bad even. The strength buff is so vital against Dracarys and the kneel can help you really pull ahead at times. Overal really useful, has never disappointed me. |
Yet another very interesting deck, can’t wait to playtest it out. Thanks |

Playtest this deck a couple of times today and i feel my setup is always bad. 3 out of 5 games, my setup always has been 2 cards setup, im not sure why. Since I always end of drawing alot of high cost chararcters, i feel that i would change A Clash of Kings plot to another copy of Calling the Banners, im not sure will that make a huge difference in economy or not. |
I play the Bara Rose Rush since the release of the first pack. My banner cards are 3x Randyll, 3x Marge, 3x Caretaker, 1x KoF, 1x Heartsbane, 1x Courtesan. I don’t understand the Arbor Knight because the Pow Icon is missing. Growing Strong is also not necassery, you will have enough strength to trigger the Street or Support or win challenges. You just have to protect Bob and Randyll, everything else like the important loactions and so on will follow. I also like A Feast for Crows in the deck, combined with support and the locations, it’s just brutal. |
The Arbor Knights are there for the icon spread, the deck has enough power icons that I can afford a few extra intrigue icons. Feast is a reasonable plot. I like double Calling the Banners for the initiative and more gold. Dave wanted Calm for protecting. |

I could see dropping Stannis, with the new pack I might play Syrio instead. We might just differ in priorities, I don’t want to rely on a single card. I build my decks with the idea that you have multiple ways to solve a problem. Might be a carry over from MTG. Versitility is never bad in my eyes. I didn’t run Seen and ran a single Mel in a previous iteration. I missed seen but never Mel. |
I think that no one relies on a single card and we are not former MTG players ;-) |
My 12 years of MTG experience really shapes my thinking at least. For now its tinkering time, tweaking for the new meta with CP 2. |
Yeah you’re right, my 2 years of Pokemon TCG, 2 years of YGO, 3 Years of YGOO and almost over 14 years of Texas Hold’em have sharpen my thinking too and don’t forget Hearthstone. So, my little weenie is longer than yours :-) With the next CP we (Bara Players) can build a strong Bara Sun Control Deck, can’t wait to test it. |
Hi! Nice Deck!

I have a new version of this deck, I can post it later if you want. I added Syrio as he is really sick with Randyll and Robert (stealth is so key, as is double icon duty with Nymeria). Painted Table and Street of Sisters are two different cards. The Street allows you to capotilize on the fact that you have a power icon surplus and can act as semi renown, but it also allows you to defend and grab power on defense. This deck doesn't care that much about dom as it does about winning power challenges. The Iron Throne is mostly there to be able to counter act opposing painted tables, counter Damphairs ability and help to win dominance but winning dom is not my primary goal. You could cut the Iron Throne though, it was the last card to be added to the deck and even though its useful, its not crucial. |
because I have a tournament this saturday, and I want to go with this deck. Syrio seems good, but what to take out??? Stannis? Mel?? Also, Syrio is a non lord neutral guy, I wonder is any change have to be made in the plot deck in order to play Syrio without problems. But I really don't like Trade with Pentosi, I don't want to help my oponent. I am looking forward to see your new version! |
Looks interesting. Is Warhammer worth it’s spot? Why Iron Throne without Chamber of the Painted Table?
