Burning on the Sand (7-0 NYC SC Winner) 3.0

A few weeks ago after getting some advice for my list from cml (haven't figured out how to tag, but thank you) I went 3-0 in a winter kit tournament then finished top 4 at our NJ SC. But going to NYC I had a hunch there would be quite a few Lannister so I switched some things up to include Attainted and fix my plots. So this is what I ended up with.

I went 7-0 on the day, winning The Compleat Strategist NYC Store Championship. The day was a lot of fun and thanks gain to the NYC group for everything. Everyone was a blast to play against.

Attainted pretty much secured the win in both of my matches with Tyrell Crossing and also made it very easy to trigger Shadowblack Lane, which had me seeing 4-5 Dracarys! in each game. And the Dornish Paramour won me 2 games, including the final. Khal Drogo was really big for his renown.

This got long so feel free to skip it.

Round 1: Targ banner Lion (1-0)
I don't remember too much from this game but it was the first game of the day and adding Attainted already paid off on his Jamie. Last turn with Khal out, on my first challenge I should have Dracarys'd his defender to have it go UO, that would have gotten me 15 power in Dominance phase. But 14 gave me the mod win.

Round 2: Martell banner Kraken (2-0)
So this game was pretty close, and besides my final, I think it was the closest of the day. Shadowblack Lane did phenomenal for me this game letting me see 4 Dracarys. They hit Arianne, Asha and Theon. Plaza also did good here too but his Red Viper got pretty scary and got him to 14 Power but I was able to stop him and seal the win with a stealthing Dany.

Round 3: Nights Watch banner Wolf (3-0)
Nymeria was out early and I was able to Tears his Sansa turn 1 to put an end to that power gain before it started. I was able to keep his hand low and after Wildfire I played out a bunch of characters to do multiple military challenges and UO power with Dany. If you have read any of the write-ups from the previous versions of this deck, this is indeed the same player from all of them.

Round 4: Lanni banner Sun (4-0)
he setup no economy and i got off to a pretty good start. i was able to burned down either his Tyrion(?) & Nymeria but next turn he threw down Varys while i had Dany, Viserion, Jorah and 3 Bastard Daughters. So my dream of Wildfiring away 3 Bastard Daughters at a time will have to wait. Recovered with a Loyalist and Drogo and he brought out 2 Reducers and Jamie. I had to chump power with Loyalist to reduce Jamie down to 3 with plaza so I could defend his military with Drogo to save my board. Then we pretty much top decked until I could afford Dany again and got the win before time. Khal was really big here for his renown.

Round 5: Tyrell Crossing (5-0)
This game was for King of Swiss, as we both entered with 4-0 records. I was able to setup a roseroad, plaza, caleotte and Jorah. He marshaled first and brought out the Queen of Thorns. I put Attainted on her, Marshaled Dany with Kingsroad and kept a gold which was used to Tears the QoT. Then from there on out, Attainted kept him from doing 3 challenges, Plaza and Dracarys burned through his board and we called it a game in plot 3 or 4 I think. I saw a couple Dracarys, and after rebuilding them back, I ended the game with all 3 in my hand.

Top Cut

Tyrell Crossing (6-0)
Another Tyrell Crossing, but a different opponent. Again, Attainted was put on Margery/Arbor Knight to prevent the 3rd challenge. That gave me UO all game hitting Dracarys a few times with Shadowblack. Nymeria kept Randyl and KoF in check and last turn I was able to Dracarys Randyl which sealed the win.

Final

Lanni banner Sun (7-0)
This game was very close. The beginning turns saw him having Jamie Tywin and Nymeria, and me having duped Dany and her dragons. It was pretty much a brutal back and forth game in the beginning. I got off a Twars on Nymeria, he put Rhaegal to the sword twice and he canceled 2 of my Dracarys. I was able to Marshall a duped Nymeria and a crown on Syrio on his Trading turn and Nymeria helped hold Tywin down a bit.

Late game we were at 11-11 and my hand was pretty low so I was pretty worried with Jamie and Tywin racking up renown my time was running out with my lack of options. But I had a paramour and 2 Dracarys. So i went first and dragged Jamie in for the Intrigue, but he canceled the Dracarys... again. So i had to go in with a power with Nymeria. He defended with Hound Cersei and Tyrion and I burned the Tyrion down, Hound went back to hand. Dom went to me. I Rebuilt 2 Dracarys and the Crown and then top decked another Dracarys and this time was successful with my Paramour and Dracarys combo on jamie, giving me the UO and Dany finished the game with a Stealthed UO power.
