and have phenomenal characters at the 3-5 cost range, and somewhat lackluster characters above that.

So this deck attempts to showcase the power there, packing in a huge number of midrange characters (and three The Red Viper because I like Oberyn too much). Sunspear and two Sneak Attack just about guarantee that you can push through a three claim challenge a few times, and Fortified Position is there to force other decks to deal with your low-cost, high-strength characters.

Also important to note, the deck has a number of ways to gain power. Benjen Stark adds to the "damned if you do, damned if you don't" military challenge problem. The Wall just does its thing, and you have good icon coverage to defend with. Plus two Doran's Game and two Superior Claim for event based closers.

Swaps I'm considering

-2 Wildling Horde +2 Dornish Paramour to bring the cost curve down and add some challenge manipulation. But since you want to go second as much as possible, I'm not sure this is worth it. And the paramour is weak on a Fortified Position turn.

Since you are getting 11 initiative with Sneak Attack, I don't think you can combine it with Sunspear.

@Tobogan High initiative means you get to decide who goes first, and you probably don't want to ever pick yourself as . Unless you just need to get your 2 claim challenge in before your opponent wins.

True true, you are right. Long time not playing the game. I am not a big fan of Sneak Attack, the downside seem very strong for me while you have Winds of Winter. I guess I have to change my mind with Martell 2.0, nowadays they can only win with a combo on turn 4 or 5, and Senak Attack could be decisive.

Is the The Wall such a must card?

@reclusive I tend to think so, for any deck that banners in Night’s Watch. The universal strength boost is a big help to the Ranging Party, especially on the Fortified Position turn.

And the two extra power isn’t that difficult to get reasonably often. Definitely harder against Greyjoy than other factions, though.
