Been playing around with this Martell Deck for the last few days, I definitely think they are top tier now.

New standout Cards are Tyene Sand, Knights of the Sun, and Imprisoned. Will replace the Obara and the Palace Spearman when they get more interesting cards at those cost slots. The 61st card has been hovering between the 3rd Red Viper, 3rd Tyene or a single bastard daughter though I think I am leaning towards the Tyene at this point.

The Second A Song of Summer used to be A Game of Thrones, but it's not really needed, if you have a bad setup all you need is control to even the playing field. A Song of Summer has been an amazing plot for me as well.

Knights of the Sun are dank as fuck, 4 cost for first snow and become ballers on plot 4, not much else to say about them. Tyene didn't pop off as much as I wanted, but thats because my opponents were using their entire board to prevent her so thats good enough for me. Didn't see Imprisoned but there were so many situations where it would just neuter the opponent so I know it's good.

Didn't use Vengeance that much but was never unhappy to see it in my hand. The reason it didn't get much use was because I would usually have Ghaston and some icon control out so my opponent was basically doing nothing. I tried to use it only for impactful or necessary challenges. Nightmares was dank, used it to turn off Winterfell before a mil challenge so I could PTTS Fast Eddy.

And I guess that's about it, lots of fun stuff. Top-Tear deck ;)

I'd remove the palace spearman to reach 60

omgitsblake 189

@IraFunesta You are more than welcome to do that. If you were going to cut to 60 though I'd probably remove Obara Sand.

No attainted to allow Tyene/Tears kill on more characters? or do you just Ghaston/Sword those ones?

I don't know i think Obara's underrated. Defending while knelt is pretty good. I wonder if they're going to give that ability to any other characters, like defending or while knelt. Palace spearman is probably still better in this deck though tbh

omgitsblake 189

Nah, you can still kill int characters with Nymeria Sand and Maester Caleotte, or Put to the Sword. A lot of decks these days are heavy military, this helps out against their own Puts and other heavy mil stuff that might be hard to handle otherwise. What's good about the deck is it's flexibility, you look at what your opponent has and then what you have and react accordingly.

Not to mention that everyone seems to forget that there are still plenty of good characters who don't have intrigue icons. Sometimes you use it just to clear out chud.

I don't really think she's underrated, but i also don't think she's horrible hence the 1 copy. Palace Spearman is usually a tricon and while Obara Sand can be it's usually less hassle to make the former one. Not to mention board preservation through your The First Snow of Winter turn. @Isian.H

What I really like about playing Attainted in this kind of deck is that you can just play it over and over again.

omgitsblake 189

@SerNakata, you can also play Condemned and Imprisoned over and over.

SerNakata 7

@omgitsblake sure, but they don't help you killing their characters with Tears of Lys ;)

Isian.H 706

in order of greatness Condemned > Attainted > Imprisoned (imo)

So many characters have Military and Power icons though, surely you can't negate them all, but intrigue is harder to have in bulk.

i did my order wrong lol. Imprisoned > Attainted > Condemned

Putting an Imprisoned on a Gregor Jaime makes them useless, Asha or Balon Greyjoy would hinder them A LOT. There are a lot of characters it would destroy. and the Condemned is better than Attainted for this deck slowing down opponents power gain.

There is absolutely no reason to not run Attainted with all the removal that is focused on intrigue. Beware of your setups, you are running 15 non-setup cards and 5 cards that you're alright with if you see them during setups. There is no reason to run 2x A Song of Summer. I'd definitely cut 1 Vengeance for Elia.

omgitsblake 189

First off, it seems like everyone forgot that there are characters that don't have intrigue icons. Condemned and Imprisoned are generally more useful than Attained, you can take an int icon with nym or caleotte, not to mention you can just as easily put them to the sword with the Imprisoned you have in your deck. Sometimes you'll only be faced with a large character that has an int icon and no way to remove it, and I'm just as happy killing chuds with Tyene.

This deck doesn't really mind having a "bad" setup since those non-setup cards usually skews whatever your opponent has on the board. Finally, I have replaced a copy of Song of Summer with A Noble Cause.

You partially answered your own question, there are a lot of targets. You pick and chose depending on the situation you're in at the moment, but generally you play it on the character you don't want doing a military or a power, which is obvious I know: there is always going to be a correct choice. @TheBrokenMeeple

@omgitsblakeDo you have problem with draw, there are only Greenblood Traders in here. Did you consider Tourney Grounds, looks good for this event package?

agentkuo 66

Y'all can calm down. I played against the deck. It works. No further discussion needed. ;D

MargareyWillHaveMyBabies! 1

How quick did his "econ" get going? There's a ton of expensive events and characters there.

agentkuo 66

@TheBrokenMeeplein our game his economy game was really strong really early, but it could've gone the other way.

Love the title and the deck. I'm new to AGOT LCG, but immediately gravitated to Martell as it reminds me of playing Jinteki with traps.

@omgitsblake and @Damien Stark, always great to see fellow Netrunners. I have always played /Sun decks, so naturally have never included Red Viper in any of them. I imagine making an opponent over commit is great, and the deck that is based on taking everything away only wins from it.

How did you choose between Fealty and Lord of the Crossing though?
