Fealty, taking advantage of Jon's ability to help win a Jousting Contest.

Otherwise, it's a fairly standard swarm of little guys. Once the first pack is released, swapping in Will for Old Bear Mormont will be a good choice.

Isn't it anti-synergetic to play Jousting Contest with a swarm of little guys?

I think his point is to go for 1 little guy + Jon Snow > any 1 guy on opponent's side. At the same time, he can defend every challenge with Old Bear 1v1, who won't be kneeling.

The problem I see is with the setup. Obviously you would want a Jon Snow and 3 little guys (at least 2) before you start hitting the Jousting Contest . Preferably a Jon with Longclaw . If you want to be able to defend you need Old Bear + The Wall, which makes those plots being able to pull off their entire weight only late game. Great finishers, but the opponent won't be just standing there and letting you setup all that goodness.

The prospect of having 4 consecutive turns of Jousting Contest with a Longclaw-ed Jon Snow boosted by The Wall is indeed scary! That's 12 challenges, 16 power gained.

@Alsciende Why 4 turns? It's 2 turns, but if the opponent wants to initiate challenges against you and can't overcome the Old Bear (although I assume Stealth could take care of that) ... you would be getting some extra power from the defending.

Btw please check reddit topic for ThronesDB, I posted some feedback about the graphcs.

@Dydra If you use Jousting Contest on turns 6 and 7, you can use them again on turns 8 and 9.

Dydra 1494

@Alsciende absolutely true :)

@Dydra Actually it's not! The plot you reveal on turn 7 is not shuffled back into the plot deck. So only 3 consecutive Jousting Contest.

When a player reveals the final card of his or her plot deck, after all just revealed plot cards have entered play and all necessary “When Revealed” abilities have resolved, each plot card in that player's used pile is returned to his or her plot deck. The just revealed plot card is not yet in the used pile, and remains revealed.

@dydra Yeah you can get three turns consecutive, but not four.

Man, this discussion blew up overnight when I wasn't paying attention. I've only done one test game, but it went pretty smoothly. Old Bear Mormont was too pricy to play, but three challenges you're all but guaranteed to win on each Jousting Contest turn was awesome. Especially when Jon has Renown.

I really like the "Jousting Jon" idea! :D Why not Castle Black? It seemes quite effective generally speaking and even more if you have to defend with a single char! However I want to try this strategy with the Banner of the Rose: The Knight of Flowers, Randyll Tarly and Margaery Tyrell seem to fit very well!
