Swept my first tournament at local game shop. I wanted to play my "And Now My Watch Begins" (check posted deck if interested) but I was afraid of Targ/Kings of Summer as it is weak to both at the moment and Dragon is very popular atm. I'm glad I chose not to seeing as half of all entrants were running Targ.

Round 1- Targ/Rose Win- He survived my initial choke and first turn Marching Orders into Daenerys Targaryen/The Knight of Flowers/2 dragons and chud. I promptly milked Daenerys Targaryen and The Knight of Flowers and tried to hit his hand as I had lost board control. He was up 11 power to 1 when I flipped The First Snow of Winter and sent 8/9 characters back to his hand and chopped Daenerys Targaryen in half with Ser Gregor Clegane wiping his board. Game ended shortly after.

Round 2- Stark Fealty Win- First turn he had Eddard Stark (WotN)/Wolves of the North/Grey Wind/Summer and I thought I was boned... He tapped out his Wolves to chomp Cersei Lannister (Core) and a clutch Treachery on Grey Wind saved and hit him with double claim Trial by Combat. Battled back and forth but I was losing with 10 minutes left. He had Eddard Stark (WotN)/wolf/chud to my lonely Brothel Madame. He tapped out for extra power and wiped my board with me having 3 gold and Famine revealed. I paid 1 for The Things I Do For Love bouncing his chud and flashed in Burned Men for the unopposed double claim wiping his board taking out Eddard Stark (WotN) with a lot of power on him. Managed to get Ser Jaime Lannister (Core) out and next turn flipped The First Snow of Winter with time called choosing to go first. Top decked The Kingsroad allowing me to marshal Tywin Lannister (Core). He was left with Robb Stark (Core) which I claimed with Ser Jaime Lannister (Core) and swung power with Tywin Lannister (Core) edging out the win with just enough power. One of the best games I've ever played.

Finals- Targ/Kings of Summer Win- Hoping for him to start Summer Harvest I opened The Winds of Winter giving him 5 gold. With only Tyrion Lannister (Core) on the board I bet on him playing Marched to the Wall and gambled the tourney playing my own Marched to the Wall and it hit. The Hound went to work with Brothel Madame adding to choke. I managed to get Ser Gregor Clegane out and Punched all 3 double claims through on Famine with my whore slipping Tears of Lys into Jhogo's mead, wiping his board.

I was the only one maining Lannister at the tournament. MVP's for the day were The First Snow of Winter/Ser Gregor Clegane and sneaky Lannister events netting me some Fantasy Flight Lannister power tokens (coincidentally only Lanni player), beautiful alt art A Noble Cause and next chapter pack free. Transformer across the street blew right when tourney ended. Perfect timing :D

Thinking about adding in a third The Things I Do For Love due to its utility. The ability to bounce high power renowned characters or bounce chuds to gain more pivotal military claim or hit with a better marched is incredibly powerful.

I'm just curious how you were able to play The Things I Do For Love with just a Brothel Madame in Round 2...you must have a Lord/Lady on the board to play that event.

I was just asking myself the same question. Was it an error the opponent missed?

I think he still had cersei cause he saved her with treachery on grey wind

He says "Lonely" Brothel Madame, I think he just goofed.

Totally goofed! I was too deep in thought and neither of us realized the requirement. It was definitely unintentional but seeing as it probably won me the game the victory feels some what hollow... Those sneaky Lannisters. I appreciate you guys catching that. Next time I see him I'll let him know.

No worries, mate. It's a board-state trigger that is as much your opponent's responsibility to know as it is yours when playing :).
