This deck made 1st place in a small local tournement in Amsterdam.
First game against Greyjoy banner kraken - Win.
This game was over after the first round. He managed to kneel my charachter wich had ice. Ary's gift put it on another character and won the military challenge. He didnt magage to put enough characters on the table to stop a 2 claim on the next plot.
Second game against Tyrell - Lion.
Edmure slowed my opponents renown enough for me to grab more power. Boardstates where pretty big in the end since i didnt see alot of kill and 2 claim plots didnt do much because of all the chuds. Rob and Jon made sure i had the advantage on winning challanges so i won.
Third game agianst Tyrell - Lion.
I was behind the first 3 plots. Could win military because opponent had more on the board. Decisive moment was when my opponent forgot Maester Luwin gave stealth to Jon so i was able to ice the new Tyrell king and gained the advantage.
Fourth game agianst Martel - Rose
Gaston grey was on the table turn one. So dubbed Eddard did not attack for 3 plots. When i decided to push the military (no winterfell) and gain the advantage (he had no more chuds on the board and had to kill key characters) i got Ghastoned en Vengeanged and it was game over. I was to greedy and should have waited a turn to get catelyn in the military challenge with Wardens of the North.
Semi Finals agianst Tyrell Lion.
This game was decided fairly quickly because of a 2 claim military changing in a 3 claim with winter is coming. I was lucky to see Arya for the stealth since Gregor was on the board. Because of the early pressure he wasnt able to play the Arbor who he had on hand (building orders) because he needed chuds.
Finals agianst Martel - Rose.
A rematch that was decided in my favor in plot one. He had Hotah on setup wich got warded, sacrificed by Jon and Winterfell crypt left him with one character on the board. Catelyn and Winterfell made sure i didnt have to fear any of Martel's tricks.
I liked how this deck seems to punish bad of mediocre setups. It seems good for long tournements (atleast in this meta) since some matches are smooth sailing because the early pressure works. Witch all the removal and x 3 winter is coming it doenst seem to need two 2 claim plots. Most valuable characters where Rob and Jon.
Winterfell crypts:
I love multible card combo's who dont need all the pieces to work. Jon Snow, Ward, Winterfell crypts work great if you have them all. The dream is warding The hound to sac him with rob to send Tywin back into the deck. But if you have only 2 pieces (Jon with Ward, Ward with Crypts, Jon with crypts and hodor, sansa etc) it should make you opponent think twice. Crypts is great to put your opponent in range of Marched to the wall.

Thanks! I think i would cut 1 ward since Targ and NW are bad houses for ward because of all the "no attachment" character. Winter is coming is always playable and useful. Winterfell crypt is a card that opponents read 3 times and still forget what it does:). |

Hello! Congratuations for your victory, and thanks for sharing the decklist. One question: have you ever tried this deck with Catelyn WotN? Maybe switching one of the 2-claim plots for more economy. I know you lose the core Cat safe-net, but you would win a lot of power gain and a another big body on the table :) Thanks! |

Also thank! No never tried it with WotN Cat. Never crossed my mind to be honest. Can see how she can get you power fast and let you dominate strength wise on all three challanges. But i dont think she has a place in a pressuredeck because she doenst help you win mil. challenges and you want to spend your gold on characters who can help you win those from turn one. I agree that this deck doesnt need 2 2-claim plots. What it lacks is reliable carddraw. Maybe rangers cache? |

I think I prefer Summons/Building Orders/Time for Wolves over Ranger's Cache. Time for wolves could be interesting here, since it's a winter plot and gives you different choices depending on the state of the game: you can replenish your board with Summer, get Lady if you have Sansa out, search for Greywind if you have Robb in play and want to put on more military pressure... Also Nymeria is a cool card to search (if you pack it). |
Nice use of the Winterfell Crypt! If you were cutting to 60, which card would you drop? Maybe 1 Winter Is Coming?
