The idea here was to find some form of control that works well with Tyrell and its themes of speed and draw. With the recent additions of disputed claim, renly, asshai priestess, it made cressen and the current kneel package of stag interesting. The decked worked well and the kneel package was really key to how well the deck did.

My loss on the day was to Targ Fealty running Varys. Opponent ran him out T1 with a duped Mirri and Dany. Was all over fast. Wins vs GJ Lion, Tyrell Summer and Stark Fealty.

A bit surprised not to see Ser Hobber Redwyne in here who would enable the inclusion of Selyse Baratheon (R'hlorr also).

How's Disputed Claim working for you?

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Confiscation for that time that Cressen gets milk'd?

Personally, I am running more Summer plots and Summer Knight, and also some reach events to close the game quicker since I can maintain control as long as Mel is on the board and I draw R'hllor cards.

You are absolutely right to question why Hobber isn't in the deck.... mostly an oversight to be honest. I think my thought at first was I hated getting him on setup which sometimes happened but I think that's well worth that risk in retrospect. He should be and he is now hah! The game I lost was mainly due to not being able to get Mel. I desperately needed her to control Mirri.

Disputed Claim was amazing actually, being able to make Mel a part of the speed game really helped. It allowed the non-rushier elements of the deck to pitch in and do their part -- you didn't necessarily take a knock in the tempo of your speed game by playing Mel out. I really liked it. I wouldn't say it was MVP but it definitely helped ie: Mel tends to get milked... a lot... but with the attachment she keeps renown and the +2 str. So a very nice way to keep her legit on the field despite what happens.

I debated on Confiscation or Pulling the Strings. I honestly think both are viable in that slot. I opted for Pulling the Strings for that added bit of flexibility. And for the most part it paid off. I usually camped Cressen until a milk or two were played already, I forced them to try and deal with the problems of Mel + the Rush. Once I saw a Milk or two come out, I'd play Cressen or fetch him then, well after they committed.

Original designs had Selyse but I found that she wasn't optimal as much as the Asshai Priestess, so she was cut in favor of that. I feel the number of rhyllor cards wasn't the issue at all, fitting more would've felt like too much, I think. And since Selyse was specifically for Bara cards only I wasn't super interested in her -- this deck doesn't hurt for intrigue icons. I think I would have rather played appointed than Selyse to be honest just for the added perk of being able to apply the intrigue icon to KOF or Standy Randy.

Sorry I meant to say an additional appointed as I did run one, which seemed to always go on Selmy for obvious reasons.
