I played this deck for the duration of the winter Octgn league. I've never missed a game or had a bye. The plan is simple: try multiple resets of the board with Valar Morghulis and Varys; after that it will be easier for you to restart and control the game.

I usually started with The Long Plan and I tried not playing characters like Nymeria Sand, Knights of the Sun, Starfall Cavalry or Myrcella Baratheon until I reset. In the first rounds you must protect your hand from intrigue challenge and at the same time attack the hand of your opponent. You shouldn't give a fuck about losing power or military challenges, especially if you have His Viper Eyes to discard annoying characters. In anticipation of Valar Morghulis, Bastard Daughter are perfect. When your opponent has 3/4 cards in hand,or if you are sure that he has 0 characters, it's time to reset. The attachments, Ghaston Grey, Nymeria, The Prince's Pass, Maester Caleotte will ensure a good control. Trading with the Pentoshi can be used to start again after reset or to help your opponent playing a lot of cards before restart. Varys it's the most important cards, so you must play it if you are sure that will be able to clean the board. Don't play it if you are first player or you suspect a Nightmares or Treachery.

In my opinion best match up are: Stark, Greyjoy, NW winter, The Lord of the Crossing based decks.

Not easy match up are: Lannister "The Rains of Castamere" that play Tower of the Hand/Harrenhal (FFH) but it's not impossible to win, Baratheon dominance (mvp cards are Varys and Political Disaster) and Targaryen.

Impossible match up are: Tyrell (it's impossible to empty their hand and they have a lot of money to restart), NW fealty.

My results: SWISS ROUND 5-1

1) Greyjoy lotc WIN

2) Stark fealty WIN

3) Targaryen banner lion WIN

4) Tyrell KoS LOST

5) Tyrell lotc WIN

6) Greyjoy lotc WIN

TOP 32 Stark fealty WIN

TOP 16 Tyrell kos (I played this game at 2:00 a.m. because of the time difference between Italy and North America).

Special thanks to @academo, ghost writer of this list :)

Did you get super luck on matchups? Your 2 Impossible Matchups are 2 of the top 3 current meta decks, and Lanni Rains in "not easy" is the 3rd to flesh that out.

@imabunnehI got definitely lucky with matchups!

However you have to consider that was a long tourney that started in october/november. The meta has changed during this period. For example when the league started Lanni RoC and Tyrell weren't so strong and popular like now.

If you ask me if this deck is competitive in the current meta I will answer no.

Will try this out soon. :)

I hope more players start appreciating the play style that is brought to the table by House Martell! Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken!

It's weird but I've always found Tyrrell to be a good match up. It's super easy to shut most of their characters down with a couple of attachments/Nym/Caelotte and you can poison most too (if not Valar'd etc). Maybe I've just always got lucky with them?

The hardest Tyrrell deck I played was one that basically messed with my draw (BAMF and the other couple of events). It was nigh on impossible to find my good stuff as he kept putting it to the bottom haha.

Keep up the good work!
