My version of GJ, plays like a 1.0 build.

Loving it! You won something with this (or at least had some good tournament results)?

Twn2dn 223

Yes, a Store Championship in NYC :)

the recently spoiled Moat Cailin seems a great addition to this deck, what do you think about it?

Clu 250

Gogo 1.0! Love how clean it looks while redefining econ expectations.

I did eye Moat Caitlin, but ultimately decided it wouldn't be worth it. The deck doesn't rely on initiative (though of course it's always nice to win initiative) and the focus is on gold choke to keep the board small, rather than hand disruption (lowering reserve). It's OK with me if the opponent has a large hand, so long as they can only play 1-2 cards each round. Most often though, a small board + winter agenda results in a small hand, bit that's definitely not needed to win.

Also, 2 gold is not insignificant for this build. I'd consider Moat Cailin at 0-1 gold, but 2 gold is pricey for my curve.

In such a deck wouldn't Euron fit better than Vicky or is the 1 gold difference a problem? Nice build, love it

Twn2dn 223

I didn't try Euron, but I do expect one gold could make a difference. Intimidate is also quite good, and losing that would matter. It's a low curve, so I don't think I'd need the locations I steal so much as the upfront pressure. That said, I'm a fan of a data-driven approach to testing, and didn't test Euron, so I could be wrong.

Sweet deck! What plot did you usually open with?

Twn2dn 223

Usually Winter Festival, but sometimes Marched or Famine.

@Jools, correct

Twn2dn 223

Just in case you're looking for more detail... Famine is the best winter plot for this deck given it's support for the theme/win condition. Winter Festival is also very strong due to high gold and decent reserve, which makes it a flexible opening plot, and allows me to marshal my 5+ gold characters more constantly, in addition to giving me rush (2 power at dom). While more 2 claim would be great to have, the other plots play an important role in keeping my board full or the opponent's board empty better than either Rise or TLW. Rise would actually be nice to include, I just couldn't fit it in without cutting one of my gold plots.

Rise instead of Coppers is way to go for me.

hallo nice deck!!!! i have a question is ygritte good for this deck?

Twn2dn 223

Ygritte is pretty expensive for this deck, especially since she's neutral. That said, I haven't tried her, so maybe worth experimenting with.

Twn2dn 223

@Joolsyou could be right. No doubt there will be many games where Rise is better than counting. One downside of counting is that with Tyrell so common these days, many decks run Pulling the Strings, which makes Counting much worse. There are times though that you don't get Great Kraken draw going and need a few extra cards. If you drop Counting, you may consider going to 3x Great Kraken.

Any consideration perhaps for Ranger's Cache?

Nice deck. Just one question : why did you play Valar and Wildfire? Because of NW?

Twn2dn 223

It's a good question. Both can be used in different situations. The goal is to keep the opponent's board small (few characters). There are a lot of saves in the current metagame, so Valar isn't always effective. However, there are some situations where wildfire doesn't do much. In most games, Valar does the job and wildfire is simply a plot with pretty good stats.
