Targaryen Fealty - Euros Top 16 1.0

This is the deck I took to Euros this year which somehow I managed to make top 16 at going 7:3 overall.

Dothraki Honor Guard often don't seem to make the cut into people decks however I found them incredibly efficient. With having very little draw in the deck (1x Littlefinger and the occasional insight from Daenerys Targaryenand Doreah ) my hand was nearly always empty and kept them around the 9str mark most games.

I think I only played Mirri Maz Duur 1 or 2 of my games as generally with the 2 military challenges from Khal Drogo, claim 2 from The Long Winter, Valar Morghulis and, of course, Dracarys! I felt that she was unnecessary and this is why she was only a 1 copy of.

Jhogois absolutely brilliant. Possibly my new favourite Targaryen character (at least till I get to play with Grey Worm ) He was perfect for mirror matches down to his increased str taking him about of Dracarys! range and with the help of Aggo and Devoted Bloodrider the stealth helped me to get my unopposed challenges and made wiping my opponents boards much easier. Jhogo was also the main target for Aggo's ability as well as for Plaza of Pride.

I don't think I need to explain Khal Drogo...what possible reason would I not want to do 2 military challenges in a kill deck?

Daenerys Targaryenis also obvious - works well with the dragons when Khal Drogoisn't around but more importantly has an icon and makes more fun targets for Dracarys!.

Crone of Vaes Dothrak are also fun. oh, you don't want to play your big characters until you can protect them? Too bad. And they are a cheap icon which is always good.

Slaver's Bay Port - the reason why Targaryen is now competitive (in my opinion) Gaining 6 extra gold a turn from the three of these is what made the plot deck viable. It meant that I could play plots for their ability rather than their stat line. This also links to the lack of draw so I didn't even have to discard many cards for reserve each turn despite having Confiscationas my highest plot for reserve. Late Summer Feasthelped me to get my military icons out early and hopefully clear my opponents board quicly turning the Slaver's Bay Port's on in only one or two turns.

Plaza of Pride is another great card that Targaryen have got recently giving them a reliable answer to Baratheon and allowing their characters to make a bigger impact. The Plaza of Pridewas also good for my Dothraki Honor Guardas it allowed me to discard a card to stand them and increase their strength.

The card I usually tried to discard for this was A Dragon Is No Slavefor it's easy recursion. A Dragon Is No Slaveis another very impactful card which I believe won me multiple games. This card makes burning big characters (main targets being things like Tywin Lannister (Core), Cersei Lannister (LoCR)) more of an option. With A Dragon Is No Slavesimply being a challenges action rather than having to target a participating character, it makes it easier to get rid of characters like Catelyn Stark (Core) when you can't find your Crown of Gold.

Dracarys! obviously goes in most Targaryen decks as does Fire and Blood.

Nightmaresis not a card I have used very much previous to this event though is saved me many times and won me several games. Definitely worth the three slots.

Honestly, I can't really remember as much as I would have liked from my games but you get the general idea. My most valuable card for the tournament had to be Khal Drogothough as in nearly all of my games he was out with a duplicate at the end of turn 1 and, well, basically kicked ass.
