Another fun Bitterbridge deck: The Q-Team! Jaqen and Qhorin team up to target-kill uniques and non-uniques alike.

General changes:

  • Arbor Vineyard replaces The Arbor. This card is a huge buff for this deck!
  • With resets everywhere, I no longer need to play Varys myself. The free cards got occupied by Put to the Sword and the Wildling characters.
  • "The Last of the Giants", however, is still pretty good here even if you don't play Varys. There's 3x Jaqen and the 3 Wildlings (especially great if you can pull off a double intimidate with Jon Snow).
  • With so many resets, draw is more important than ever: 3 Pleasure Barge and the Mander were really good every time I saw them.
  • I'm on the fence with the Eyrie: maybe the Throne or Highgarden would be better.

cards:

  • Qhorin Halfhand doesn't need to win alone unlike Mirri, costs 1 gold less, has renown, and doesn't replace claim. I'm now wondering why I even considered Dragon to be the best banner for Bitterbridge.
  • Jon Snow is another hard-hitter especially if you can combine him with renown and intimidate characters. His stealth and high STR is great for Put to the Sword and The Mander.
  • Another save like Maester Aemon has been proven really useful. I'm playing 7 unique characters at 3x now, not even 2x Close Call can handle that alone.

Very interesting!

What if your Bitterbridge Encampment gets hosed by Newly-Made Lord or Frozen Solid, or if you simply fail to draw it? Have you considered options like Rattleshirt's Raiders, Building Orders, more draw (Counting Coppers), and/or more economy (The Roseroad) to hard-cast your heavy hitters?

Also, would "Lord Renly's Ride" be useful here to help Jaqen H'ghar win solo? Or is Renly's Pavilion enough for that?

And what about an emergency Varys?

I just had a game where 2 NML discarded my Bitterbridge (only use: my Jon vs his Reader) on turn 2 and turn 3 (and WDNS my Mander). I didn't need Bitterbridge to win that game. With 2 Vineyards and 2 Great Halls I had enough money to put my high-cost characters out anyway and burn through his saves with Tears, Put, and Jaqen. Qhorin ate the 2 Newly-Made Lords.

Confiscation is just in this deck because of Frozen Solid, no other attachment would justify its inclusion.

Rattleshirt's Raiders: I did consider them, but chose the Wildling Horde in the end.

Building Orders/Counting Coppers: First of all, I don't want to play fewer than 5 Summer plots. Then, Renly, the Mander, 3x Pleasure Barges, Littlefinger, Time of Plenty and 2x Close Call usually supply me with enough cards. Especially the barges are perfect for Bitterbridge. More economy isn't really needed, I have high-income plots and draw a lot.

3x Marge and the Pavilion are usually enough support for Jaqen. I can intimidate and kill before I use him, too. And a surprise Jaqen when the opponent's characters are already knelt, is something I pulled off repeatedly. I tested "Lord Renly's Ride", but the kill events proved more important. I often didn't have anyone in my dead pile.

Everybody plays Varys, so I don't need to. :-P On a more serious note, I often didn't want to reset and used Varys the Giant to intimidate someone, something the Wildling Horde is better at.
