Rules FAQ

  • A character that cannot be killed cannot be chosen for any effect that would kill it, including claim. If Wildfire Assault is revealed, you are not compelled to choose it as one of your 3 characters (nor are you compelled to choose one of that character’s Traits for Vanquish the Unbelievers).

  • You can choose an opponent’s character if you wish. In fact, if you control no characters of your own, you will be forced to choose an opponent’s character, even if you would prefer not to.

  • The effect lasts until you reveal a new plot card. Usually that will be in the following plot phase, immediately after resolving all interrupts to a plot being revealed. By the time you would resolve the When Revealed ability of a plot like Valar Morghulis in the following plot phase, the lasting effect of At the Tower of Joy will have expired and the character can be killed again.
