Played this deck the weekend of the release of Second Edition.

1st place at the first A Game of Thrones Second Edition Tournament The Appraisery, Cubao Expo, Quzeon City, Philippines October 11, 2015

Round 1. Kenno Nishioka AKA Kennish. Lannister Banner to the Lion.

The curse of "playing the guys you came in with for round 1" is real. We've played this matchup close to 10 times prior - but this one was different. Everything was tighter and it all came down to the reds. He pushed a Tywin out the hard way at plot 2 and was his only relevant military icon character throughout - which I Put to the Sword the challenges phase thereof. His chance at recluse from my onslaught was a Varys, 2 of which I had pillaged. By plot 4, and me at 13 power, he finally dropped a Varys, but alas, was too late. I had enough stealth on the board to come in for the win. You played the best you could, old friend, but a Lannister always pays his debts.

Round 2. Victor Prieto owner of The Appraisery. Greyjoy Banner to the Wolf.

"You can Greyjoy better than me." "But you Stark better!" Our decks were like long lost brothers - different angles at the same story. Like the siege of Winterfell. Vic was playing for House Stark at heart, caressing his majestic wolf as it gained power throughout the turns. His board was consistenly strong, fielding Theon, Ned, Arya and Sansa early on - we traded blows plot after plot. It had come to critical mass when he was at 12 power and I at 9, riding off the back of a free Balon courtesy of his brother Aeron. Back to back Sneak Attacks were played and at plot 4, he had messed up his math. Swinging in for what seemed to be game, he was short a power or two. I retaliated with the royal family of Pyke aboard the Great Kraken for game. His forces were larger and more able, but a slight miscalculation gave up Winterfell for the Ironborn.

Round 3.
Kelvin Balaquit (Relative Newbie, had only been playing Second Ed on OCTGN). Targaryen Banner to the Sun.

I couldn't believe this guy made his deck off a flavor stand point. Let's jump to the end where I ask him "Paano mo binuo yung deck na yan? (How'd you build that deck?)" "Diba secret supporters ng Targaryen yung Martell? Ayun. (The Martells secretly support the Targaryens, right? That's how.)" The thematic marriage between the two houses resulted in a very efficient and powerful control suite. Dornish Paramour + Dracarys + Daenarys + all sorts of no icon shenanigens and counter play turned each of his games into 8+ plot slobber knockers. Once again, Aeron Damphair prayed well to the Drowned God and revived Euron Crow's Eye and several of his pillaging buddies. I was so relieved seeing Confinement go straight to the discard pile. We constantly fought for dominance, not wanting me to revive Ironborn left and right - but it was too much. The math had become so convoluted - by plot 6 and 7 he was at the cusp of victory, only to have it all taken slowly through a defensive Winds of Winter and a game winning Sneak Attack by Balon Greyjoy at the helm of the Great Kraken, once again. A real tense match, an innovative deck and tight gameplay - GG!

Some changes I would like to make: - 1 Little finger + 1 Wildling Horde - 1 Kraken's Grasp + 1 Risen from the Deep

WE DO NOT SOW!
