Legacy of the Watch

Rules FAQ

  • If you lose control of attached location, Legacy of the Watch will become illegally attached and will get discarded. That also happens if Legacy of the Watch's text box is blanked at any point (for instance, by Brother's Robes), because it will lose the play permission of being allowed to be attached to a location rather than a character. On the other hand, assaulting (or otherwise blanking) attached location will not cause Legacy of the Watch to become illegally attached.

  • If attached location leaves play, Legacy of the Watch returns to its owner's hand.

  • If multiple conditions are met in the same challenge, you only trigger the reaction once. Each effect then simultaneously resolves if its condition was met.

  • A single participating character with multiple relevant traits counts towards each corresponding condition.

  • Since the word choose is absent, you do not need to declare which location you plan to stand until after the cancel window has closed.

  • If you control two participating Builder characters and no kneeling location, you can still trigger the reaction. However, you have to stand an opponent's location if there is one.

  • If one of your participating Steward characters is Dolorous Edd, you have to decide whether to return him to hand or not before you can trigger Legacy of the Watch. If returning him to hand means you no longer control 2 or more participating Steward characters, you do not get to draw 2 cards.

Vulture King

Rules FAQ

  • A character is considered to have a challenge icon or to not have that icon. A single character that has and/or is gaining the same challenge icon from multiple sources functions as if it has one instance of that icon. (See Challenge Icons.)

  • You can choose any icon, even if the chosen character currently has no instances of that icon.

  • You can trigger reactions like Sandstone in the same reaction window, after you have triggered Vulture King.

  • If you remove an icon that would cause the only remaining defender not to contribute its STR to the challenge in which The Red Viper (OR) is attacking, it will not retroactively make the challenge unopposed.

  • If the losing opponent controls no characters, you cannot trigger the reaction just to discard the top card of your deck.

Ser Arys Oakheart

Rules FAQ

  • If you use Margaery Tyrell (HoT) to cause a character to be participating in the challenge as a defender, an additional character must still be declared as a defender, if possible.

  • If Besieged is revealed, the abilities do not stack. A single character being declared as a defender satisfies both abilities.

The Sack of King's Landing

Rules FAQ

  • Non-participating characters you control also gain pillage during challenges.

  • A character is considered to have or not to have a keyword. If a character has and/or is gaining the same keyword from multiple sources, it functions as if it had one instance of that keyword. If a character losses "all" keywords (for instance, if You Know Nothing is played), it will not have that keyword even if it is gaining it from multiple sources.

  • You can trigger the reaction if a location enters an opponent's discard pile for any reason. This includes claim, pillage, being discarded from play, being discarded for reserve, a duplicate being used to save the location from leaving play, etc.

  • If multiple locations enter an opponent's discard pile at the same time (for instance, when resolving Political Disaster), you can trigger the reaction for each individual location.

  • You can only trigger the reaction if the opponent controls a character with the exact same printed cost as the location (not "equal or lower"). If there is no such character, you cannot trigger the reaction.

Warrior's Sons

Rules FAQ

  • You can include different versions of Warrior's Sons in your deck, but you are still limited to 3 copies altogether (by title).

  • The text of Warrior's Sons is self-referential and only applies to that copy of the card. You cannot stand the card if power is gained by or moved to a different copy of Warrior's Sons. Similarly, you cannot stand a different copy of Warrior's Sons if power is gained by or moved to this one. It makes no difference if the other copy of Warrior's Sons is the neutral version.
