The deck I was planning to take to Red Saturday, before an unfortunate encounter with the porcelaine throne.
Having been wrong about Martell on the cast, I decided to see what I could do with Night’s Watch, and set out to build the best version I could. Spurred on by some Night’s Watch successes in European tournaments (notably Angers, 14/11/2015), and a comment of mine on the cast about NW needing “Int/Power bicons”, I wanted to milk Noble Lineage for all it was worth. The deck basically fell into place from there. The Banner faction of choice is variable - I’ve tried Lion and Stag, and both have some advantages and disadvantages.
While I knew Baratheon would tear this deck apart, Targ would be very HJ vs Dracarys dependent and require careful use of Will, the real test was whether I could turn GJ into a positive matchup - and this plot deck does exactly that. In ~9 testing games against GJ, I believe it let slip only a single UO challenge.

I brought this deck to my local Winter Tournament, and first competitive tournament ever. I loved playing this deck! Went 2-2, which is much better than I was expecting. First match was close against Martell fealty, but I was able to quickly gain the lead and close the game out with The Wall. Second match was against Targ fealty. The game was rough. Drogo came out on setup, and my draws were pretty poor that game. I was able to make them work for it, but I ultimately lost. Third match was against Lannister/Stark. It was close, but became another loss. Heavy hitters like Tywin Lannister, Eddard Stark, Ser Jaime Lannister and Tyrion Lannister made things difficult. Luckily I was able to stave them off with clever use of Maester Caleotte and keeping Arya Stark at bay using Edric Dayne with Noble Lineage. Fourth match was against Greyjoy/Lannister, and it was a complete stomp in my favor. After an early Great Kraken and turn one Balon Greyjoy on their part, I was able to completely shut down their efforts using the plot deck. After they couldn’t produce a character with an intrigue icon for the third marshal in a row, I took a risk and played A Game of Thrones after I had used Fortified Position the turn before to protect myself from Balon and the newly marshaled Asha Greyjoy. Amazingly, my opponent revealed Rise of the Kraken, then immediately regretted it, as they could not marshal an intrigue icon, and I had rendered their entire turn moot. I was only 4-5 power away from winning at this point, and knew that if I didn’t win that turn, I would risk losing the game. So, I attacked with my Steward at the Wall in intrigue, which was unopposed and netted a power. Then, I attacked with Dornish Paramour with Noble Lineage in power, and forced Balon to block, kneeling him. I then attacked in military with Ranging Party equipped with Longclaw and they blocked that with Asha. I won the challenge and netted another power from the renown. After that, I triggered The Wall, picked up two more power, then because I had The Iron Throne, I was able to pick up the last power from dominance and win the game. My opponent was a little salty, but they got incredibly cocky with that turn one Balon and acted kind of dickish, so I enjoyed the win even more. Anyways, LOVED playing the deck. I placed 8th, which is far better than I anticipated. It was a lot of fun. :) |

I took my shot at it but was way off. My curve was way too high and I found the Nymeria Sand interaction cute at best in a defensive deck. |

LGTM, though I really like Veteran Builder and Wildling Horde for some efficient power icons for the Baratheon matchup. And they’re also quite good with Jousting Contest.
