As the SoD deluxe box did not arrive in time to be legal for UK's Battles at Summerhall tourney, I thought I would try Greensight as a stop gap before 'The Wars to Come' can take its place.
The build went 3-1 in the Fear Cuts Deeper online tourney on the Friday evening, losing to Tyrell Big Bollocks in the last round. I really enjoyed the Greensight mechanic, so I decided to run it with real cards at Aldershot's Battles at Summerhall tourney the following day. I only managed 3-2, losing to Targaryen Rains of Castamere and Tyrell Red Door. Nothing to go crazy about, but I wanted to share it just because it was so much fun to pilot on the day.

The obvious synergy with Greensight is to fill your Flea Bottom with all the cards you normally want to see in there. When this works it can really speed up the game for you. This is of course a reset build, although it is not running Varys (probably should). The aim is to keep the board small and use my bounce tech to support Spearmaiden. Greensight also gives you an element of control over your opponents draw. If there is nothing threatening, or something you feel you can Spearmaiden or reset, let them draw it.
The first game was against Jon Webb's Tyrell Bitterbridge deck. It was a decent game, where I had all the control on challenges. Jon had to pass challenges on 2 consecutive turn. Greensight was doing some good work feeding my Flea Bottom and discarding opponents decent cards. I got a decent lead because of this, but the passive power gain from Oldtown and Renown across the board in the final round meant he would finish 10-8 after time was called. So I conceded, as all good players should in these circumstances.
My second game was against another cool dude: Joel Pearson who was also on Greensight, but his flavour was Nights Watch. His build had a much more focused use of Greensight, and was taking anything he wanted out of my Flea Bottom pile. So I just put all my effort into board control, keeping the game really tight and using Burning on the Sand where it really mattered, in Power challenges, earning the concession in our final round. I really interesting game. Two Greensight decks going at each other feels very odd.
Game 3, my only other loss if the day. I had to take on Rebecca Gillard's Targaryen Rains. Daario Naharis has too much fun with Spearmaiden, and Plaza of punishment gets its teeth right into my low SRT, but effective chars. I did not get into this game at all, and my resets were not effective enough. Could not have lost to a nicer person than Rebecca though. She is nice... honest!
In my fourth Game I took on Simon Martindale's Stark Brotherhood Wildlings. It was looking promising for my chilly northern opposition... until my First Snow destroyed their board on turn 2. My opponent, Simon Martindale, could not find a way to keep any characters on the board after that. First Snow is possibly one of the best plots in the game. Funny how it is great for sunny Martell, but terrible for the hardened northerners!!!!!
Final round of Swiss... the Dream :) I beat Tyrell. Although it was a Conclave deck, which Greensight seems to love going up against. The board and hand control locked in early enough, and the win felt inevitable from early on. Oh how I like to beat Tyrell ;)
But congratulations to Joe Zimmer for becoming the overall champion of Battles at Summerhall II. He was running... oh wait! Tyrell :(
