Here's the list I ran this weekend at the Northern California regional at Berkeley. I went 4-0 in Swiss & won in the QFs before eventually losing in the Semis to the event winner, Michael Hackman. It was a strange day, to say the least, as I played 6 straight games against Martell Wars, winning the first 5 before finally running out of gas in my rematch with Michael. I'll be seeing Orange cards in my sleep for days to come. As I basically played the same match 6 times in a row, I'll spare you all the tournament report, but feel free to ask me any questions and I'll answer them as best I can.

I've been refining this list for a couple months, and I think it's really starting to turn out well. I think my future versions will most likely immediately drop the Bodyguards in favor of a couple Hand's Judgements and make a couple other small changes, but all in all, it's an extremely adaptable deck that presents a ton of threats to the opponent.

Congrats to the champion Michael, and a huge thanks to the TO Stefan Topfstedt, who is a true gentleman and a great ambassador for the game.

What is your favorite color?

@Toaster Blue? No! Wait, green! Ahhhghhh

Do you ever find yourself wanting more econ locations?

thehumanh 288

@Maximus Not really. I could see changing the mix a little bit, working in say one or two more Arbor Vineyards, but overall I think the econ balance is pretty solid. Hightower and Leyton both supply a ton of econ that doesn't show up in the traditional +X gold sense.

Sooo, why is this Crossing and not Wars?

thehumanh 288

@SpiriT It's a fair question. In testing, I've generally found that the extra power gain from Crossing is important, as well as getting the extra trigger for the Courtier or Randy stand effects. But it's certainly possible that the list would do better as Wars. In the two closest matches of the day, my 15-14 win over Eric, and then my loss to Michael, I wasn't able to trigger Crossing at all. And vs Michael, a Confiscation probably wins me the match.

If you were to run attachment control, which you do you between Beyond Reproach or Confiscation, and what would you ditch from your plots for it?

thehumanh 288

@MaximusRight now I'd lean heavily towards Confiscation for the higher initiative and reserve. My first instinct for a cut would be Calm, but I do think that's a pretty valuable plot for the Targ matchup. Wildfire might be a better choice.
