my first attempt at making a deck. Can anyone tell me why its not suitable for melee please?

It has more than one card that is restricted in melee. Check the FAQ - there is the full list of restricted cards for both joust and melee. From brief overview you have - Cersei Lannister (LoCR) and Small Council Chamber.
