The queen has never had a more prepared guard than this elite team formed by the most honorable Shagwell, the brave Patchface and other brave warriors of strength 1 and 2.
The goal is to gather as much renown as possible and strain the Queensguard discard machine, ideally with support from Insight. We will untap our champion as often as possible. A single Citadel Archivist will be enough to avoid being decked.
Such is the magnificence of this praetorian guard that our opponent usually concentrates his efforts on the fools and dedicates all his love letters to them. If they dismantle the combo, which will happen frequently, we can turn to the duo of luxury mercenaries and set up Queensguard on the very handsome Mr. Naharis who in turn will untap the no less attractive Mr. Hoat. Naharis & Hoat's raids will put our opponent in trouble if he has dedicated all of his defenses to Patchface and Shagwell.
The deck suffers a lot against board swipes and obviously against First Snows of Winter. Aegon Targaryen would be a very good reinforcement of the deck if he were not restricted alongside Queensguard.
