This is the deck i built and ran for a small winter kit tournament in Taipei, Taiwan. Theres a small tourney report here http://www.cardgamedb.com/forums/index.php?/topic/29626-small-tourney-report .
The aim of the deck is to push through uo challenges, gaining power and having fun. The martell banner adds quite a lot of extra tricks - edric is (almost) a stealthy tricon, confinement is like stealth but better and caleotte just gives people a ton of headaches (either let this challenge through, or i take an icon to get the next one). Its a ton of fun to play, mixing up good aggressive challenge making with some decent resilience and icon spread.
The plots give a decent mix of economy and finishing potential, the usual openers being noble cause (to play nobles) SA (with balon/stealth) or Here to Serve (if the above doesnt apply).
MVPs: Balon (obv) Caleotte (searchable mind-fuckery) seastone chair (scares the shit out of people even if it doesnt trigger)
LVPs: (is that a word?) Obara
Changes I would probably make - dropping HJ for another krakens grasp, and obara for something.
In the new pack theres loads of cool new things, I would imagine both the raiding ship and the reader will find slots, and nymeria is bonkers so ill definitely revisit this list then.

As for blackwinds vs drowned i see no reason not to run both. Blackwinds are better for the curve and are recurable, drowned are just a bit bigger. Regarding the little bird, it was originally at 2x but i cut 1/lent it away. I dont like milks as they hurt set up and are really easily countered. I could cut it, i could go to 2x i dont know… I looked at your version of this deck (no wand probably while building) and have a couple of questions: Did you ever hurt for economy? Your running a more expensive banner with arianne and an extra euron, and slightly less gold on plots. Did they get caught in your hand a lot? How was Arianne for you? I love her and shennaigans, but I ended up cutting her. Was running 1x seastone chair/great kraken and 3x support of the people alright? |

I’d love to say Arianne was a game winner for me, but she’s usually just a solid intrigue icon that gets swapped out for Asha or something to win a surprise unupposed or dom once every 5th game. She DID win a game for me though when I was at no cards in hand and drew into 2x arianne, giving me mil claim soak and enough intrigue to screw my opponents Game of Thrones turn. 1x Seastone and Kraken 3 x Support is perfect. Absolutely perfect. Never dead cards. Never drawing into location dupes. |
I posted a GJ/Sun list that I used to get into top 4 of 25 last weekend that looks like it wants to do the same as this deck.
Some things I would change up…
Black Wind’s/Drowned. Pick one and go 3x.
All of those 1 of’s need to go.
Too inconsistent imo. Drop that hands judgment, and go 2x Krakens Grasp. Or the other way around. But one of each means you won’t have either when you need it.
Same with the little bird. Odds are you won’t ever see it, so why bother with it? Better off with milks IMO.
