Hello folks,
first i want to thank everyone that i was able to play against and/or just had a few nice chats over the last few months and thank to all the orgnaizers of the tourneys i attanded.
!!!!SPECIAL thanks to Schwaig and Philine!!!!
They planned the biggest tourney of the World (from GoT) with a 7 month old child and still attended with pure joy, kindness and the engergy as we always had known from them. I can only imagine how much energy and pure will it has cost you. Dont froget to thank the mother of Schwaig who supported them trhoughout the tourney (the hidden MVP of the weekend)
I wanted to share a Decklist, cause i really think the Deck works well and when i started playing the game 2 years ago i realized there was a lack of Melee Decks shared online. And as a new player you usually rely on already built decks.
The deck brought me to a 2nd place at the German Nationals where i came up to 14 power as the first player and dont managed it to close. Which Werner used to win on his own. Well deserved win by a good player. Had a lot of fun with you as always :)
At Stahlek 25 i went to get 2nd at all 3 tables with exacly 13 Power :( I faced a first round Delena Florent at 2 of 3 matches which is the worst card to meet for the deck, but still made my way with a Green-Apple Knight and Beacon of the South up to 9 Power just on him. On top i faced Bookerman on 2 tables. He went undefeated in the Swiss straight to becoming Melee World Champion 2025. Which compensate a lot for my ego;) Well played from him, good deck, and always an amazing talk with him:) Hope to revange next year.
To the deck: Of course you want Randyll Tarly (Core) and/or Brienne of Tarth (HoT). Restand them with the effects or with Highgarden Courtier or The Warden of the South. We open with The Maiden if the setup and Eco is good enough which it usually is. Or if we really need the Money with Late Summer Feast. In most games i follow with 2 Rounds of Jousting Contest and then (or when i can win round 2) with Forced March (R), i play it for high Initiative, the effect is rarely used. With Maiden you usually win the Ini.
In round 1 and 2 i try to get a few power (not too much to become a threat) and trigger the Agenda. I usually get it by trading the Rival challange.
In the Joisting rounds you usually stay unharmed, cause in a 1v1 there is noone able to phase you. They are too afraid of the Events in hand and that they will just throw their challanges in the bin. If they attack us... even better... take the Renown and stand right away.
When i think im able to finish i try to grab Hand of the King and with Olenna's Machinations and Olenna's Informant im able to do 4 Power challanges. This results in something between 8-13 Power in one round which shocks most people and close the game.
A few hints:
-
Brienne the Blue, Melee at Bitterbridge, The Might of the Reach, Arbor Marketplace and Renly's Pavilion works cross table. You can manipulate other challanges too. Sometimes you need someone to stop winning this way. Growing Strong too but only if an opponent plays Tyrell too.
-
Melee at Bitterbridge is a card even experienced players forget about its existence which can be a surpise moment when fighting with a character who dont have renown, and suddenly still has. This won a few games cause they did their maths and thought i wont close. But their math was not calculating getting Renown on a Garden Caretaker with Brienne the Blue and Growing Strong increase.
I put in Confiscation if i REALLY have to get rid of a Milk. And Wardens of the South if i dont managed it to get STR incease on Board or dont have the Gold for the events or the events themselve.
Feel free to play it, test it, and improve it. Let me know if you have fun with it and if you found some ways to do it better :)
