This deck went 5 - 1 during the SC in Arnhem. Besides the obvious stars of the deck (Dany, Nymeria, Dracarys!) it were Dornish Paramour and Maester Caleotte who were invaluable in winning against the hardest match up Lannister.

Double icon removal through Nymeria and Caleotte can keep Tywin at bay. Nymeria alone was able to stop Greyjoy's Seastone Chair the whole match.

Not once during the entire tournament did Dornish Paramour drag any characters into Dracarys! But she was able to control Tywin by forcing him to defend against intrigue challenges, and she managed to force the opponent to attack with Varys, who then got targeted by Dracarys! and died as a result.

Rebuilding went great the whole tournament with the help of with Shadowblack Lane. Even if you don't draw a extra Dracarys! its threat is always there. Opponents tend to slow down their play because of it.

Match 1: Mod win 14 power against Targaryen / Lannister.

He killed my Dany, Tears'd my Drogo, cancelled my Dracarys and Hand's Judgment, but I won all the power challenges.

Match 2: Win against Lannister / Tyrell

His Tywin gets marched in turn one. Tyrion dies by Dracarys!. Jaime and his second Tywin die to claim (Drogo) when Paramour forces Tywin to defend intrigue, and Fire and Blood puts Drogon back into play. Opponent concedes.

Match 3: Loss against Lannister / Tyrel.

Opponent has a great setup ( Tywin, Reducer, Rose Road). His Nymeria cancels out my Nymeria. My one attempt to Tears his Tywin fails when I'm able to take his icon, but Tears gets cancelled. Wardens of the West hits my hands, Cersei destroys my hand even further. Lannister floats the board.

Match 4: Win against Greyjoy / Martell.

Opponent has Seastone Chair on setup. I have Nymeria. She controls the unopposed military challenges long enough for me to pick off all the important characters like Asha (Crowd of Gold), Theon (Dracarys), Dampheir (Dracarys), and Balon (Tears of Lys).

Match 5: Win against Lannister / Wolf.

This deck does not like Varys. The draw and gold is mediocre. Plot 2 opponent plays Varys with Widow's Wail. He attacks with Varys because Dornish Paramour is on the board. It took two Dracarys! and a triggered Plaza to kill him. Dornish Paramour kneels Tywin so I can win a 1 strength power challenge to trigger Plaza. Paramour continues to control Tywin who keeps winning intrigue challenges on defense.

Match 6: Win against Lannister / Tyrell.

Both sides have everything on the board. Taking 2 icons from Tywin with Seal makes sure he isn't able to grab much power. Committing strongly to defending power challenges with renown characters, and attacking only on power challenges won me the finals.

Grats. A few questions - How did you like Trading with the Pentoshi during the tournament? I've yet to try it with Targ. Also, how do you feel about Khal Drogo in this deck?

Thanks. I'm not sold on this plot yet. Being able to marshal Dany, a dragon and still have money for Dracarys is the reason I choose it over Noble cause. If you have your kill cards it good, if not you are putting yourself behind. I think Noble cause is better until the 7 cost non lords get out.

Drogo was important because he is a five str renown character with a power icon. Most of the time he defended power challenges and people don't see, to expect that because they think you are going for the second military. The second military is fine for extra unopposed or the rare situation you get all your kill cards and actually kill something meaningfull with claim. Happened once in six games.

Yea I agree with you on A Noble Cause. I've kept Khal out of my Targ Sun builds but the renown in this deck is nice. He just makes me nervous because of the 6g with the addition of Nymeria and Syrio. Did you ever find yourself hurting for gold?

I only had problems paying for Syrio, because I needed Trading for Dany and didn't see the Kings road and Syrio on the same time. Having two 5 gold plots who are good mid game and calling the banners gave me the gold I needed besides Trading.

I have a question about match 5. How did Plaza take care of Varys if Widow's Wail was attached? Plaza can't target characters with attachments, right?

ThijsM 104

Good point. I own somebody an apology.

He attacked with Varys with widows wail. I used the first dracarys!. He cancelled the second one. Then i won a 1 power challenge on wich i triggerd Plaza. The legal play would have been to target my own viserys so Varys would lose the +2 and died. The honest thing to say is that i did target is Varys.

My apologie has been made and accepted:P.
