1st place deck at the Springfield MO Moonboy Store Championship of 23 players.
When building I had a few goals in mind. I wanted great setups every single time, I always wanted characters to play, I wanted lots of target removal and I wanted a deck that could control the tempo of the game by winning initiative most of the time and I wanted to avoid cards that were too conditional.
The list is very adaptable in most cases, it can put lots of pressure on early with Khal Drogo or target kill followed by a marched to the wall. It can leverage boards that get too big to control and it can draw cards with either Counting Coppers or Dany and because of Trading with the Pentoshi it can play out 2-3 high impact characters in a single turn. Tyrion's ability means you will have gold for events or ambushing the Hound in most cases and Calling the Banners is a good closing plot.
I had a ton of fun playing this deck.. You do need to be able to adapt your own tempo to what your opponent is doing and chose your plots wisely based on the board state.
After winning the SC with a 5-1 record I don't feel I would change much.. I would maybe consider dropping the Hound down to 2x and putting in a single copy of the Tickler or a Widow's Wail in the deck. I would also consider dropping out a Handmaiden in favor of a copy of Seal of the Hand. The attachments would give a little more protection against Greyjoy and also Plaza of Punishment. I was very happy with the Plot choices although I probably got the least mileage out of Wildfire Assault surprisingly. I still think it's necessary as a rebound in case the board gets too crazy though. I generally tried to hold Viserys back until my opponent played out a milk or seal of the hand instead of running Confiscation which worked out pretty well in most cases.

Thanks!! Well, Kings Peace was legal but didn't offer much, I mentioned a couple attachments in the notes I would drop in such as Widows Wail and Seal of the Hand to give extra protection from Plaza and Greyjoy and maybe throw in a copy of Tickler for another Int icon. After the stark box and next pack come out who's to say what the Meta will look like though. |

Oh - I thought I'd seen it mentioned that TKP wasn't legal yet. But that does fit my thinking. I didn't see anything that was particularly helpful. My primary concern was perhaps a 3rd copy of Plaza to help deal with the inevitable addition of Newly Made Lord in Greyjoy. But Plaza isn't a deck staple as much as it is a constant threat that changes how your opponent deals with the power challenge. |

Well I have more than enough claim soak that I simply don't care if my opponent gets a military challenge and I also find the card to be not very economical at a 3 cost 2 str mono-con. A good player that really needs the mil challenge will simply save a gold anyway. Also, I wouldn't want to cut any other cards in the list in favor of her. |
Congrats on the win! Glad to see you take another tourney with Targ! :-) With The King's Peace out... would you make any changes at all? I don't see anything specific since this is so tempo related... but, I'm not the deckbuilder you are, so curious on your thoughts.
