March 26th:
For the first Lord Commander tournament here in Minnesota (26 players) I took what was basically a retooled version of my Stark Fealty joust deck. I was a bit on the edge about switching from Fealty to LotC but with a couple of Little Birds and the new Wilding Scouts, I figured I could make it work. The one extra power and the +2 STR the agenda provides can certainly lead to some explosive turns. In a couple days we should have a video of the final table up with commentary.
If I were to make any changes to this deck now I would probably swap out Wardens of the North for Confiscation and probably lose x1 Winter is Coming (I saw a lot of Supporting the Faith) for Winterfell Castle.

MVPs:
Robb Stark: The King in the North, indeed.
Eddard Stark: Don't care for him in joust but in melee he's pretty awesome.
Wildling Scout: Great chump. Can be absolutely key during the later part of a game.
Sansa Stark: For being the easiest power you'll ever get.

Kidohearts, thanks buddy! Masterkira, Greyjoy can be very fast, so it can be challenging to keep up with their speed once they have their pieces out. LotC only blew up in my face once during the third melee game but it was my own fault with how I handled that challenge. I think a Fealty deck can be just as viable for melee. But of course, with the deluxe box around the corner that's subject to change. |
