This is the deck I would have taken to Dockside Brothel had I not been 50% responsible for destroying my passport. In my absence, and because he loves me like a brother, Dave took my deck so that I would live on in spirit. We discuss this deck in some detail on Episode 43 of Banter Behind the Throne.

This deck doesn't reinvent the wheel. Its Lannister good stuff with a Stark module to provide utility. Its very lean on the Stark components. Fast Eddie is the real draw here, with Bran providing the alternative to HJ that leaves your event slots open for juicy inclusions. Arya is a solid body that leaves you with a chud after First Snow if nothing else, whilst introducing budget stealth in every other occasion. The Winterfell Steward gives me an extra three 1-cost characters to chase the God set up with. That's seven 1 cost characters in the deck which definitely makes the Tywin start much more plausible.

The first thing that will make your eyes pop out is no Tears of Lys. The reason for this is two fold. In testing I fell over against Martell mainly because of the overwhelming control Martell has over your intrigue icons. This card was dead in my hand in every game, and the people you want to hit with this card have an intrigue icon in Martell anyway. If you want Nymeria taken care of, plunge a sword into her head or get her on the old heroin for a while. Tears isn't going to help here. The First Snow tech and kill events off the military icons more than sufficed in every other game and the moment people see your house card they will assume you have Tears anyway. Sometimes the fear of whats in the dark is worse than what actually is. You get me?

Secondly was my prediction that the field would be full of Lannister, and if one house gives zero f***s about Tears it's Lannister. I figured I would put the card slots to better use elsewhere and I never regretted losing the card in all my games prior to the weekend.

The swing slot in the plot line up is Filthy Accusations. I would have taken Naval Superiority had I actually got on the plane. Seriously people, stop opening with Noble Cause and Trading with the Pentoshi. I know you really want your Robert Baratheon on the table and how else are you going to pay for Mirri. But, if I see Tywin and/or some economy, I'm reaching for Naval almost every time at the moment. Cue salty tears. In any case, Filthy has some utility here as an alternative for Marched. I often, like everyone, look to March --> First Snow, but occasionally things go tits up. You might not get to keep your Burned Men around, or not have some one to throw under the bus. In those situations, Filthy Accusations still gives you an advantage going into a weaker board. Ultimatley though it's up to you.

So, this is nothing ground breaking. Lannister make every deck better, Fast Eddie just turns the jets on here. Dave took it to a 3-3 record in a very tough field, I had input from Glazer and Buzz while building this and my testing regularly blew people apart, so it's legit. Enjoy!
