A work in progress - I'm bored with the same decks being made over and over and over again. Time for something different to see if it can be proved that the game isn't just a one-trick pony. Raider from Pyke was released and also Street of Steel and the idea of a Weapon themed deck sounded cool. Except there aren't many weapons..........nor that many great ones..........and so looking at combinations I was only satisfied with Stark/Kraken. It gave you access to Ice as well as Winter Is Coming to make your military hits painful, but also allowed access to the Raider and mid-weight hard-hitters from Greyjoy as well as their Fishing Net and Throwing Axe. The ability to ambush these in should hopefully play some mind games with the opponent, which is how I do well at Netrunner, messing with their head.
Obviously this will need a ton of tweaking. But I hate having to wait for FFG to make an archetype feasible when they keep releasing these cards miles ahead of their time. So is there any hope for a Weapon theme deck? Issues I can see:
Cost - loads of stuff is expensive, ICE is 3 on its own. PTTS is 2 gold, probably not enough money to get your actual decent bomb characters out.
Characters - only 30 so far and I've already exceeded 60 cards, something I hate doing. Knowing my card draw luck I'll barely have a field to equip!
Easily Countered - Much of this deck is easily susceptible to event cancellation or just generally events that screw you over (Vengeance for Elia much?)
Weakness to Intrigue - not a lot of intrigue icons here - naturally these would be some of the first characters to be targeted.
