The first time ever that I took a deck to a tournament that I din't play one single game with beforehand.

I had played very little Thrones in the last few months, and had barely kept up with the metagame, so I wanted something that was easy to build and pilot, and could do OK even with little preparation. In other words, something with Lannister.

I played a couple preparatory games with Lanni Dragon, and a few more with Lanni Kraken. Of the two, Dragon felt stronger, but I thought the deck, and especially the cost curve, would be harder to "get right", and it seemed more difficult to pilot.

So I settled for Lanni Kraken, even though I did have some qualms. The only GJ card I really wanted was the Iron Mines. Asha Greyjoy was nice to have, but didn't feel essential. Theon Greyjoy felt like an outright liability in a Ward meta. Overall, I didn't like how the GJ pod created a sizeable hole in the deck.

My misgivings were exacerbated by two bad losses against Martell Lion decks on OCTGN two days before the tournament. So, on the evening before the tournament, while making the last preparations for the trip, I said, "screw it", took out the GJ pod and added the Martell banner. The three Iron Mines were replaced with a couple of Bodyguards, and a few other changes were made. And it worked.

Went 5-1 in the swiss, made the Top 8 cut, went on to the final, where I lost to, ironically enough, Martell Lion. Specifically, this deck: https://thronesdb.com/decklist/view/5135/prague-regionals-2016-winner-58-people-1.0

Swiss: Stark Fealty - W Tyrell Stag - L Lanni Kraken - W Lanni Dragon - W GJ Stag - W GJ Fealty - W

Top8: Lanni Dragon - W

Semi: Stark Fealty - W

Final: Martell Lion - L

Thanks to all my opponents. They are all fantastic people and great players. Congrats again to the winner @taijibear. And extra thanks to the organizing team. The Prague Regional is continually one of the best run, most awesome and best supported tournaments around, not least due to people contributing significant amounts of their own money to offer a prize pool that is second to none at a ridiculously low tournament fee. Huge kudos!
