It's quite good if you manage to avoid Baratheons. I love Aemon, but the thing with Here to Serve is that it needs to be an early plot to get you the maester on time, and clearly the weakest part of NW is economy. So in general you want to go Pentoshi/Calm in the first turns and get the magic 4 for the Wall. In general NW aren't in a very good spot right now, but i am not too disappointed by how this list performs. |

Night's Watch is certainly bottom of the barrel right now and I hope that changes. I am a fanboy for this house and want them to receive some much needed utility that makes them worth playing competitively. They're a frequent for my recreational games, but are avoided (at the moment) at all costs when I play competitively. You bring up a great point about the Here to Serve plot in that it has to be used early, but often means that economy lags 1-2 plots behind other houses that use an opener like Trading with the Pentoshi or Noble Cause. Do you, generally, mulligan if you don't find the Wall, or do you prioritize a board presence during setup? |

Depends on who the opponent is. If you are not expecting First snow then definitely mulligan for numbers, otherwise you need a mix of Wall/mid-cost cards. NW is quite worse than most factions, but in a Stark meta, they are good. They can even give a run for its money to Lions, but they are abysmally bad against Baratheons and Martells. Definitely not a choice for every tournament but they can be strong in the right environment. |
This deck looks like it has the potential to defend the Wall like none other! How have you found its performance without Here to Serve in your plots? I've found Maester Aemon to be absolutely crucial in a NW deck to protect the ever-important uniques...
