This is the deck I took to Atlanta's inaugural Battle of Summerhall. It got me the top ranked Lannister player and took me to the Top 4. It went 3-2 in the Swiss and 1-1 in the Top Cut.

I made this deck a few days before the tournament and only got to play it a few times on the day before. This is very much an unrefined, first draft (as easily seen by the 62 card count draw deck). I had been playing a Nights Watch/Banner of the Wolf deck which did well as long as I saw most of the pieces, but flat out lost if the pieces were slow in showing up. I thought I'd switch things up and try it with Lannister because of the economy, Renown characters, and because I wanted to give The Boy King a try.

In the Swiss my losses were to a Greyjoy/KoS and a Tyrell/Stag. The Tyrell/Stag was a very close 14-15 which I could have won if my opponent had made his challenges out of order. (He didn't and went on to place 2nd.) My wins in Swiss were against Targ/LotC, Martell/KoS, and Greyjoy/Lion.

In the Top 8 I was paired against Stark/Fealty, and won that match. In the Top 4 I faced off with Greyjoy/Fealty and lost to the eventual winner of the tournament.

Congrats on top4!

How did The Boy King work out for you? I recently played a similar deck at the Dutch Nationals. I was pondering about that card.

I am also wondering about the decision on leaving the NW reducers out. It seems you are running only 6 1-2 costers. That seems very low to me in a deck that is already suffering from meager setups.

Thanks @Ash!

The Boy King was okay, but nothing spectacular. I don't think it induced my opponents to claim 4-costers instead of cheaper options and the power gain was not significant. I enjoyed the card more in Melee where it was pretty much guaranteed 1 power a turn.

Leaving out the NW reducers was a late deck building cut. I knew I'd miss the extra claim-soak and help on setup, but that was almost their only purpose. They could only reduce the cost of 4 cards not counting themselves, so I thought I'd try it without them. It was an interesting experiment, but not sure if it's something I'd do again.
