My Lanni winter deck, plays very different than a traditional "good stuff" Lanni deck with tons of ambush, attrition, and actually successfully using Trial by Combat. Hear Me Roar's efficiency in a low-gold game with low-reserve plots is marvelous as well and Shadowblack fetches these crucial events for you.

Game 1: Greyjoy Fealty - Very sloppy game on both sides, set up Tyrion and Shadowblack and marshalled Tywin first round, but struggled to cope with a Seastone Chair marshalled first round. Opened with both 2-claim plots with Trials, but couldn't eat the entire board. Winter festival and renown eventually ground it out for me.

Game 2: Greyjoy Crossing - His deck got off to a quick start, but I was sitting on two Trials from redraw and top-decked Cercei right as I was ready to swing into 2-claim mode. It took 10 full military claim over 2 rounds and one final marched to wipe the board and ensure victory, he got to 12 in the meantime before I rinsed 5 off Balon and Theon. Landed the perfect Trial by Combat fantasy!

Game 3: Martell Wolf - Set up Tyrion, reducer, RR and Red Cloaks. He went with Dayne night, Bran and Knight of the Sun. He marched , I first snowed (I drew a fistful of ambush tech). He got a milk on Tyrion but my ambush efficiency overwhelmed him and wiped the board. The choke was enough to prevent him from ever getting another good character out for some rounds, and I Riddled his Harvest for the knockout.

Thoughts: I never played Ranger's Cache, but never got into a knock-down drag-out game against a Martell or Targ or such. Hard to evaluate. Hand's Judgement was useless, but my fear of Drac on Tyrion or Cercei made me stick it in. Would have canceled a Risen on the 10-claim sweep though. Paid off was okay, unexceptional. Wish there was another good Lanni event to stick there. Everything else seemed in excellent proportions.

The event you're missing is #I Never Bet Against My Family

@displacedIt was a deliberate exclusion. I don't like it in a shadowblack-focused deck (faction card kneels) and the deck only has 16 uniques across 7 bodies. Not good odds on a helpful hit in only 5 cards searched. This deck isn't full leaping, more ambush.

"Game 3: Martell Wolf - Set up Tyrion, reducer, RR and Red Cloaks. " That is a good setup ;)

Did Paid Off, well, pay off? I really like the card but seldom finds the room to include it.

@elimsenIt was indeed. Paid off was alright, I saw it in each the first two games. It accomplished its goal of "one surprise kneel" and then was a minor nuisance, was hurt by greyjoy going first every single round. Its power in this deck comes when you (they) kill the character it's attached to, and get it back in hand, which I accomplished but works better against less extreme decks. Cuttable but fun and at least minorly effective.
