This is the joust deck that 5 of us from SoCal brought to worlds. It was a ton of fun to build and test this one with such a great group of guys!

I ended up 5th or 6th after Swiss and lost in the top 4 to Giovanni's Targ Fealty. Kevin Shannon played the deck did to a 6-2 finish and just missed the cut at 18th. We also had a few 5-3 results, so the did decently on the day. The plot line is the real star. Wins usually looked like 15-8 round 4 and losses usually looked like 15-13 with you having 0 characters :p

Rough outline of my day:

R1 - Win - Mishay, middle east - nw winter, no white tree early

R2 - Win - Olo, Polish Champ, nw wall. got the early lead and pushed through uo with kneel.

R3 - Win - Tim, ? - GJ crossing, kneel int icons, boy king super cheeky

R4 - Loss - Sam, Austria (King of Swiss) - Lanni winter. crushed my board, first loss.

R5 - Win - Ben, Ireland, Lanni stag. fun mirror. missed a winter festival trigger since we were having such a fun game. Watch out for Ben's tricks!

R6 - Win - Geoff, Minnesota, Lanni wolf. hazy on details

R7 - Win - Brad, Wasau - nw lion, great game.

R8 - Win - Ryan Wood, UK champ, nw wall. bad matchup for him.

T16 - Win - Carsten Germany - Targ x, seem matchup and he hit a 7 card flop, but t1 seen in flames his big only threat he saw all day: mirri.

T8 - Win - Ryan Wood UK Champ - early wall intrigue claim, bad matchup

T4 - Loss - Giovanni Italy - t1 crown on Tyrion, no chuds all game, 2 milks on tywin, 2 drac = no chance

What went into the decision to play this over Baratheon Kings of Summer?

I like the decklist. The only thing I might change is finding room for close call, since it makes the matchup against targ infinitly better. When you run Melisandre you are forced to run all those sub-par characters which are quite bad without her. So losing her early is horrible, as you experienced in your semifinal. Props for a great run and a great deck though.

Wow a 7 card flop in t16 and you still won?! Nice! And Brad from Wausau is the nut! My game against him was a highlight of the day--Bronn put in work for him haha. Glad to see you continue your success at Worlds... back to back third place joust finishes! Awesome time testing and tuning too.

Oh and point of clarity - the folks from SoCal brought a lot of other decks too. Syd for example made top 16 with Bara Watch (the paint dry).
