This is the deck I played on Saturday, 4/29, at Kingdom-Con in San Diego, CA for the Road to Nationals event hosted there. It's a deck I have been playing with for the last 2 months and making improvements along the way.
I finished 2nd in swiss out of 23 and 3rd overall with the highest SOS. Honestly I believe this deck had the potential to win it all but due to the many mistakes I made in the semifinals I lost. My opponent played great too but, I dont know if it was due to fatigue or nerves, I was playing bad. I won against the person who won it all during swiss, so that's why I believe I could of won it all.
I'm not good at going into detailed write ups so I'll give a summary of what I remember.
Round 1: WON vs Targ Fealty - This was probably my closest match up of the day. The previous round ended with me having 10 power and my opponent 14. I got initiative and went first. Got unopposed, Kraken, and renown to barely win it.
Round 2: WON vs Bara Summer - It was an even match until I Valar round 3 or 4. I was able to save more characters and using Rains to get claim on Valar is really good. Couldn't recover from there.
Round 3: WON vs NW Fealty - This is the person that won it all. From round 1 I had kept him with mininum locations. In round 3 I Nightmared his Haunted Forest to get unopposed then proceded to Sow his Wall. After, I got another unopposed and proceded to Sow his Forest this time. From there I had board control and won.
Round 4: LOST vs Tyrell Wolf - This was an impressive lost to the King of Swiss. My opponent played really well and had an answer to everything I did. He won it by using a method I have never seen which I won't disclose since it's his secret, for now. The only down side was that the whole game I didn't see a single save or dupe.
Round 5: WON vs NW Wolf - Opponent played well but he never got any Mil out on the board. That allowed too many unopposed and Chair to trigger.
Top 8: WON vs Bara Summer - Same opponent as earlier and went in a similar way.
Top 4: LOST vs Targ Wolf - Honestly I don't know what happened in this match. I played wrong, forgot too many abilities and triggers. Didn't save characters when I had saves. Many mistakes were committed and it cost me dearly. Opponent played better and beat me. Although I was disappoint in the end, it wasn't because I lost but because I didn't play my best.
I had a great time at Kingdom-Con and will prep for the SoCal Regionals in 3 weeks. Thanks to all my opponents and the organizer for a fun and smoothly ran event. There's a few adjustments I'm thinking of making but if you have any specific questions just ask.

You can't tell us anythinga bout what that tyrell guy did? |
Whats with Wex Pyke? Pushing the UO espacially for the intrigue. I guess he fits really good in a GJ rains. Maybe playing King Balon with Appointed. That means 2 possible challenges with him and 2 times renown. With Great Hall you should also have not so much problems with economy. I'm not a big fan from Iron Island Market in these Deck. The downside could be too big. Maybe in a GJ Winter choke it will be better. |

Maybe Kingsroad for it? Same gains after the turn you play it and it's repeatable. Gold is always handy for events ;) |

With the new chapter... you change something in this deck?
