ChaosMeteor 20

Hi all!

I made this deck before the release of True Steel. I was gonna use this in my first SC but opted for my more consistent Lannister Fealty deck.

The goal of this deck is to power rush through unopposed challenges. This deck can end the game by turn 3 or 4. I've only played with my friends so I don't know if it will also work for you guys.

This deck really shines if you get board advantage early but this deck has little to no tools for a comeback if the opponent gets ahead.

PLOTS

Opener | Closer | Situational | Leisure* | Economy | Control

*Plot to use when you still can't finish with a Closer, and Situational Plots have little to detrimental effects on your board state.

Heads on Spikes - Opener / Leisure

  • Every deck has roughly 50% characters. This results in having a 50% chance of gaining 2 power with a small chance of killing a big character. At the very least, its an claim.

A Noble Cause - Opener / Leisure / Economy

  • For bringing out your big characters. I only use Noble when I'm Marshaling Balon/Euron or if I don't have a Reducer for Asha.

A Clash of Kings - Closer / Leisure

  • A Closer that can also be used as a Leisure. This is usually used before or after Rise of the Kraken. It also turns people away from doing chud challenges to you as you can get 1 when they lose.

Rise of the Kraken - Closer / Situational

  • Aside from being an obvious closer, it can also be used to thin the board down, usually after First Snow or before Clash. In the best case scenario, you can gain as much as 12 power in a turn, not counting Renown and Theon's Reaction. 3 UO x 2 = 6, 2 claim challenge, 2 from Superior Claim, and 2 from Great Kraken. But this is wishful thinking, though I did get 11 power in one turn from one of my games.

Filthy Accusations - Situational / Control

  • I usually use this to make UO challenges easier but it also functions to hinder the opponent's big character for a turn.

Confiscation - Situational

The First Snow of Winter - Situational

  • This leaves the board small and very easy to make UO. Unlike Wildfire Assault, you can still use chud Reducers in the Marshaling Phase. It also benefits from being a Winter Plot.

KEY CARDS

Star players:

Asha - Asha is the MVP here. The Little Bird/Asha combo is really nice.

Balon - Balon is your Milk-magnet and is the primary target for Ghaston, and kneels. That is why Asha is the MVP. But if Balon is unhindered, he really shines especially with Kraken. Stealth on Balon is just ruthless with Seastone.

Great Kraken - Gives Balon stealth which as I have said before is ruthless. This baby gives you a chance to get 2 additional power each round. This deck is all about gaining fast.

Superior Claim - Winning by 5 in a challenge is a piece of cake for greyjoy. This really helps with the power rush. I usually use Theon and Wendamyr to trigger this card add-in Asha for a third stealth but be wary of Lannister's Treachery.

The Seastone Chair - Who doesn't like targeted kill? XD Also makes the enemy overcommit, making way for UO or .

Supports:

Euron - I don't really need Euron but he is also a milk-magnet and I'd rather have Euron milked than Balon or Asha. It's my win if the enemy milks Euron coz even with milk, Euron is a tri-con 6str beatstick. Yes it's sad to lose Euron's Reaction but I don't really need it. I only really include him for the Renown. His Reaction is just icing on the cake.

Theon Greyjoy - Stealth and conditional "Renown".

Maester Wendamyr - Cheap stealth. Need I say more?

Raiding Longship and The Kraken's Grasp - Helps in getting UO. I initially wanted 3 of each for a lot of UO. But good sense hit me and I decided to cut down on "Go First" Tech. Plus I can't really afford more Longships coz of the economy strain.

We Do Not Sow - For destroying key Locations and also taking out the Milk from key characters. Plus something to use Fealty for when The Seastone Chair is still notmlay.

FINAL NOTES

This deck struggles with economy so cards like Brothel Madame, Paid Off and LeBronn really stings.

This deck also has no means to counter kneels and icon removal which sadly are the strong points the factions in the deck that one of my friends use (Barathon Banner of the Sun / Martell Banner of the Stag).

It also struggles heavily versus Mirri and now also Tyene.

This decks has no answers but asks hard questions. It needs to be answered by the opponent. If the enemy has answers, you're screwed. On the other hand, if the enemy has no answers, you will crush him/her/it easily.

This deck has not yet reached its final evolution but I will leave it as is for the mean time. I'll get back to this deck after I've had enough fun with my Lannister Fealty deck.

Any comments and feedback would be appreciated. Thanks for reading. :)

Does the The Kraken's Grasp cause someone to be unopposed, or are they still opposing the challenge but with no strength?

ravushimo 1

If player have 0 str on his side as defender its counted as unopposed for attacker.

Lannister 570

Hey good deck! Do you have a version of this with True Steel included? Would you add the new attachment or character at all?

Lannister 570

Why do you use Fealty instead of Lord of the crossing? This would give you epic Power challenges on the third round right? Thanks :)

Courteous 65

He need Fealty because of the poor economy, the deck should work but if the opponent is like a Baratheon with a lot of economy it will be really hard

Lannister 570

Right, makes sense. Thanks!

Considering Tyene and Mirrir are staples in every single deck that can feasibly use them, surely those are things you don't want to be struggling too .. . . . .

ChaosMeteor 20

@Lannister thank you for your kind words :). I do not have a version with True Steel included. In my opinion, I don't think I need the new attachment nor Dagmer. I'd rather use Stealths and/or Balon in my and challenges. Dagmer doesn't just fit into the goal of the deck.

I use Fealty because, as @Luckyroxx has pointed out, the deck has poor economy. And also, in the games I played with my games, I don't always have the opportunity to get that 3rd challenge bonus. Plus it weakens my 1st challenge. You can try this deck with LotC though. I'd like to read how you fare. If it works for you, great! Maybe it's just me not used to using LotC haha. Good luck!

@MargareyWillHaveMyBabies! that is one of the reasons why I'm not taking this deck to my next tourney. XP. My friend used a Lannister/Dragon deck on me with Mirri. Sadly, once Mirri hits the board with a dupe, I was screwed. On the other hand, if I got The Seastone Chair and he doesn't have Mirri duped or has Treachery the turn I Seastone Mirri, then I win. It basically went down to who got his Targeted Kill out first. With me having the disadvantage of the possibility of Treachery'ed.

For economy, what about Trading with the Pentoshi?

ChaosMeteor 20

@artyzipp I tried Trading, but the extra gold given to the opponent often leave him/her with a lot of Characters to oppose my challenges. I like to keep the my opponent's board small so that it will be easier to make UO with Stealths and other GJ tech.

@ChaosMeteorExcellent point. I think I will rebuild my deck to match this and give it a whirl tonight. I am tempted to add Drowned God's Blessing

ChaosMeteor 20

@artyzipp Good luck with the new Attachment! I hope you do well :))

In my humble opinion though, I'd rather have as much UO tech as possible, but the fact that Balon/Asha can't be Put to the Sword is nice. Give it a whirl. I'd like to know how it goes for you. :)
