Thanks! I missed with shadow black 4:5 - 5:6 times but the times you do hit its worth it. Waking the Dragon was a last minute addition to try and up the number of shadow black targets as well as offer a little more flexibility vs varys (via recalling guy) or vs milk (via either bouncing my own guy or bouncing viserys) or even just pushing with Jorah and recalling him. It was great all day. I think 1 was fine though. I always want a third THJ but I just can’t find the room for it. Adding Rebuilding has helped with seeing those again though. I don’t have any plans to change the cards in the deck. I was happy with everything. This is the 4th event I brought this deck to. Placed 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd. (3rd was in NYC at Red Saturday in a field of 50 players). The losses in the 2nd & 3rd place finish were both to Targ Fealty which is why I really wanted the 3rd THJ. Are you running a similar build? How are you finding the +/- matchups? |

Oh right i met you at RS, Mike from the NJ group that was there early. I was running 2 Randyl and 2 Growing Strong prior to the new pack. I’ve switched out both Randyls with Syrio and crown of gold being pretty expensive. But I would like him back he’s just expensive after using noble cause for Dany. I am running two Waking the Dragon mostly because of milk in my meta and challenge shenanigans. I play against mostly bara and GJ in my group and do pretty good until Euron grabs my Plaza. But in 2 tournaments my only real bad matchup was against a Targ Fealty who just completely obliterated me. I’ve also had to favor Drogon as well as Rhaegal because of the wall decks which are a big thing here. I have tried 1 Bear and the Maiden Fair but as much as I want to like the card I’ve been pretty unlucky with it. Would probably make more sense to go x2 because at just x1 what’s even the point. Do you include it here mainly to dig for your card draw or for control of opponents draw? or just let the state of the game decide that for you? |

Ah yes! I remember you! I definitely like KoF better than Randyl in this deck. KoF + Marge makes it so I can near-guarantee a win of the challenge I want in the late game. Randyl & Khal are great but I just can’t justify the cost of having them. I hear you on Drogon too. I’ve sometimes had to summon for him to speed up the game. I like Bear a lot. I wish there were a pre-plot window still, but even so, post plot Bear on myself helps. I generally use it on myself to order what I draw off of Danny or in post-plot to fish a little. I am not opposed to using it on my opponent but generally I’d like to increase my chances of drawing dracarys more than decrease my opponents chances of hitting something. The exception was the finals from the SC where, had I not closed it out that turn, I planned to Bear my opponent to ensure Tywin didnt find his way out of the deck. If you have only 1 slot for Bear, I agree with you, just cut it completely. I like 2 or 0. |

Yea I love KoF with plaza. Going to the Philly SC this weekend I think I’m gonna take your advice and try out the 2 Bear and the Maiden fair. Also, how was Crown of Gold on the day? |

I only saw the Crown once all day. I had it in my setup hand against Bara, which seemed like a good option for Mel but it got Seen in Flames’d on turn 1. |

This is a really strong deck, and Britt’s an excellent player. The combination of having to worry bout the burn and the challenge manipulation of Tyrell is a rough one to get around. |

Excellent results and a very fun deck. How did the one copy of PttS perform for you? I'd think it's hard to get the 5+ STR win in this deck, unless you have KoF + Marge, or Syrio. Maybe trade it for that third copy of THJ? |

PttS was rarely effective. My recollection is that most times it ended up being just not enough Military to pull it off. It gives more flexibility against Martell & Lanni where just Tears is less effective. I could see dropping it for +1 THJ or +1 Tears and just accepting the minus matches with Tears or playing it more aggressively on guys you might not otherwise. |

What, if any, changes will you be making to this deck when the new pack goes live? Any thoughts on Ser Hobber Redwine to search for either Danny or more likely search for Margery? I've been playing a similar deck with good luck as well, love the flexibility this pairing provides, but I do run three The Hand's Judgment because there's been far to many times I simply wish I had a third. |

The only change I've made so far is -1 PTTS for +1 Tears. I do want to find a way to get the 3rd HJ in there though. What is your event suite? |

Also, I haven't given much though to the new Hobber yet but I like the Marge search a lot. Candidate spots are the other 5-costers. All of which I like. What are you cutting for Hobber? |

I'd definitely go -1 Courtesan, +1 Handmaiden; the Courtesan's +1 STR is far outclassed by the Handmaiden's ability to stand Dany/Marge. Also, you can use Illyrio's Estate on her. |

My events package is the same is your with the exception of -1 Put to the Sword and +1 The Hand's Judgment. I've found PTTS challenging to play at times with only 6 characters with military icons. |

I like the -1 ptts for +1 hj as well. I already swapped the 1 ptts for a third tears but it might not be necessary and vs other Targ decks hj is almost always better. Thanks for the ideas! |
Grats on the win. Anything you’d change? I’ve been testing the shadowblack+rebuilding in my Targ Rose as well and I’ve liked it so far, even if shadowblack doesn’t hit every time. How’d it work for you during the tournament?
