Hello! It seems like everyone is posting they're deck from this regional, so I thought that I would hope on along. There was some controversy in illegal decks and improper decks during this tourney. But, it's behind us. Some people were disappointed about ID's, including myself since if the ID's weren't a thing, I would've made the cut. Though, I do respect that top players maybe tired and hungry after playing 5 hours of cards, and I respect taking two points and taking a break for the cut.

Let's get on to the deck. I built the deck with intent of Stark, Martell and Mirri. There are big strong powerful renown characters to keep up with Stark rush. There are milks, treachery and rattleshirts riders to combat stupid Martell icon removal stuff. Finally, there are Mare in Heats and Arbor Knights to stop Mirri Mass Murder tricks.

Day report

Round 1 Lannister BotK (Kraken) WIN

I had a bad first hand so I mulliganed into the dream Tywin Reducer and Roseroad. He was able to put Tywin to the sword easily with two stealthy turn one. But slowly I was able to pull out more bigger, stronger characters with renown and power rush to the win.

Round 2 Martell Fealty WIN

I had a pretty simple start, and so did my opponent. We were able to start with good Econ, but I was able to keep control with motp on Nymeria. I played mainly defence, since I was looking at a ghastly for most of the game. Whem he put Tyene out I also immediately milked her since I was depending on Randyll to close the game. He eventually played confiscation, and got rid of Nymeria's milk. He did get Varys out at the end, but it was too late and I was able to pull off the win.

Round 3 Lannister BotW (Wolf) LOSE

I play John Gobeil who did eventually win the tournament. He got the dream setup with Tywin reducer and fiefdom. He wasn't able to get much out, but had a super powerful Tywin, who I was unable to stop. Every time he went first, he was able to jump close to the win. And when I would come back I wouldn't get as far as he did. He won with a super powerful Tywin and amazing sportsmanship.

Round 4 Baratheon BotK (Kraken) WIN?

So this was a little interesting. I played against one of my local meta mates, though there was a little mess up. When he wrote his deck list he listed 59 cards, but said there was 61 cards in the deck. He had forgotten to put the QTY of how many Theon's were in his deck. Using logic you can easily identify that there were 2 (61-59=2). Idk much else on what happened, though I do know that the judge gave him a match loss, which automatically gave me the win. We did play for fun, and he did crush me in like 3 plots.

Round 5 Martell BotL (Lion) LOSE

This game was interesting. As in he had the completely crushed me. I was able to get good characters out, but I was unable to stop the Nymeria, Tyene combo. During the game I was able to keep Tywin and Tyrion safe longer than usual with duplicates. Though, those didn't last long. He finally killed Tywin, with him needing 3 power to win, and me having dead characters in my hand. He was able to take the W.

Round 6 Targaryem BotL (Lion) WIN

In this game, I drew all my answers to Targaryen. Widows Wail, Margaery, HJ, milks and treachery throughout the entire game. I had the characters that could survive dracarys and ways to make sure the ones who couldn't could. He got Mirri out early, but I immediately milked her when I became acting be player. Next turn he confiscated, but then I put her to the sword. After that the KoF was able to win the game with his renown.

End of the day, the TO called me as Ninth. I was close to making top cut. The weekend was great coming down to Montreal and getting some cool prizes. I had fun, met new people and got new subscribers (AGoRGames)! See you guys at Gencon and Canadian Nationals!

Nice Report Carter! It was nice to have you all come to our part of the World! It sounds like you had a great day/tournament despite missing the cut! It was nice to meet you at the end although we didn't get to talk much (prep for my Top 8 disaster!) I will gladly keep an eye on your channel for Thrones content from this Regional and more! Two quick questions for you: How did you like Varys's Riddle? Second did you miss Marched to the Wall at all?

@DanSolo77 I found that using Varys's riddle was very supporting. It was mainly for the backup bad setup. Since there are so many big cost characters there is a high chance of setting just one of them. Tempting your opponent to march. It is also great when you flip it on a draw plot.

Cool deck and congrats on your tournament! How did the mare in heat work out for you?

@YEEZUSI found the Mare In Heats extremely useful. They were great counters to gj rush, forcing them to stealth them instead of characters that could defend. They were also great against Mirri. I put one on Ilyn and it was amazing, he could defend any challenge with Mirri in it. Though, I do think cutting one of them is in my future since the knight pool in my deck isnt the greatest.
