I wanted to create a Martell deck that was able to be competitive in the current meta.
After few weeks of testing and improving the deck I got here. Before the tournament I played about 10 games online, losing just 1 against a Bara fealty. And I went undefeated in this tournament. That´s a record of 14-1, so I was pretty confident to bring it to a tournament.
The whole point is to reset the board, empty your opponent´s hand and win (lol).
So a little analysis on the deck, is a very cheap deck, however you will have tons of economy in late game, thanks to dornish fiefdom.
That´s why the plots are so low in economy, however they do have high iniciative. The strategy is to go aggresive if the oponent starts with small chars, or attack the hand if he starts with big chars.
Heads on spikes empties the hand, give you some power, and you can combo it with his viper eyes or/and gashton grey.
Varys of course is one of the MVP here, use him and marched or Valar afterwards. (no the last of the giants, because no space and need of combo.
Tournament report:
1st round vs Targa Fealty--Maenas-- (Win 1-0): Started very strong with all the tools needed to empty his board and his hand, newly made lord, destroyed his astapor and from there it was smooth.
2nd round vs Stark Fealty--Athos-- (Win 2-0): Controling his board all the time, however when he marshalled Core Cat, he started getting power on his black fish, I couldn´t use Gasthon. I marshalled Varys, he went up to 14p but I was able to clean the board and control the game from there.
3rd round vs Greyjoy Fealty --Narwe-- (Win 3-0): Trouble started when he marshalled Euron x3, step by step, playing very carfeully I won some powers until I had 10, stole his great kraken with sea bitch and got 3 power from unop power ch, 1 from int and 1 from dom.
4th round vs Lanni Kraken --Jaino-- (Win 4-0): Amazing game against an amazing player. Jaino knows how the games work and he played defensive when he had to, and aggresive when he had to. I emptied his hand, claiming nightmares during the intrigue ch, used varys reset the board, and thanks to nymeria and all the martell tools I got the win.
I really loved this tournament and I was happy to bring house Martell to it´s rightful place at the top.
Let me know what do you think.
Hope you guys like it!
