Rules FAQ
The chosen character gains the printed challenge icons, keywords, faction affiliations, and Traits of the character that is on top of the dead pile at the time the effect resolves. If another character becomes the top character of that dead pile at a later point, the chosen character is not affected.
For the purposes of Fear Cuts Deeper Than Swords and High Septon, the chosen character is the only target of this ability. The chosen player is not a target.
