• You cannot take control of a unique character if you already control a copy of that character, or if a copy of that character is in your dead pile. (See Unique Cards.)

• Taking control of the only defending character will not retroactively make the challenge unopposed.

• The defending character is removed from the challenge the moment you take control of it. (See Ownership and Control.)
